Our company is driven by the idea of mythologizing the experience of our senses; creating performances and visual art that challenge the viewer's perception of time and perspective as well as allowing our work's intention to be spacious enough for empathetic experiences to emerge. Our work realizes and exists in the state of liminality- the sense of being 'in-between'. By working across different

FORM/S:
These workshops serve as a start towards dynamically bridging the gap between different dance and art communities both in and outside of Seattle, LA and NYC. To date, FORM/S has served 200 diverse dancers, invited over 100 members of the community to open showings and conversations, provided five full and five partial scholarships, and five work-study positions. The guest artists and Zoe co-create curriculum that is pertinent to their current research and process, shaping the structure of FORM/S to support the synthesizing of their teaching and creative practice. FORM/S artist faculty include: Gilbert T Small II, Dani Tirrell, Juniper Shuey and Zoe Scofield. Guest artists and speakers include Heather Kravis, Michelle Ellsworth, Danya Hanson, Randy Ford, David Rue, Brian Rogers and Negarra Kudumu.

Clear & Sweet: commissioned and presented by On the Boards, New York Live Arts, Bates Dance Festival, Contemporary Arts Center NOLA, Oz Arts and Carolina Performing Arts. Clear & Sweet premiered at CAC NOLA September 2016. Performed by Ana Maria Lucaciu, Navarra Novy-Williams, Troy Ogilvie, Dominic Santia, Zoe Scofield and Kevin Barran with local singers.
The 5 dancers are blindfolded in this section and can’t see each other or the stage. It took A LOT of rehearsal to learn the exact movement pathways, facings and how to not accidently hit each other. It also took a lot of time, vulnerability, patience and trust. I love this part of Clear & Sweet and I absolutely loved working with these amazing dancers. When I said, I want to do this section (of complicated partnering between 5 dancers) blindfolded, they didn’t hesitate and we figured it out. I couldn’t make the work I make without all the incredible dancers I am fortunate enough to work with!

As Giving Tuesday winds down, we’re holding tight to one truth:
Art is still happening.
Your support helps us keep making, sharing, and offering work — even between the grants and commissions.

It’s Giving Tuesday, and we’re reflecting on what it means to keep making art in a dramatically shifting landscape.
For 20 years, zoe | juniper has created live performance work rooted in presence, risk, and collective experience. Your support today fuels the spaces between major productions — the screenings, conversations, iterative processes, and new access points that keep the work alive even when funding cycles slow down.
We are evolving. Expanding. Building sustainable structures that allow the work (and the community around it) to grow. Support the next chapter of zoe | juniper: Give today →https://givebutter.com/x6rIMg
