Our work takes our staff to all kinds of locations, including areas with little to no cell service.
To ensure his safety while working on a remote dam-related project, Erick Martinez Mendoza leveraged technology and proactive communication.
“Phones nowadays allow for texting via satellite, which was incredibly helpful when I needed to send a text to someone to check in now and then. I also tried my best to stay in the line of sight of the crew that was working out there.”
Thanks, Erick, for taking the right steps to uphold safety in the field!

That’s a wrap on the 39th International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE 2026) in Galveston! 🌊
Spencer Comeaux, David Eley, and Denzel Flores represented GeoEngineers this week, and it was great connecting with so many of you on the conference floor — talking coastal engineering (and, let’s be honest, a little small talk too).
Bonus points if you spotted GeoEngineers’ logo (and our work) on a project board while you were there!

Associate Geologist Lisa Bona represented GeoEngineers at the City of Duvall's Earth & Arbor Day Festival on Saturday, April 18. Lisa has been attending this annual event for many years—making it a meaningful tradition of community connection and outreach.
With around 300 visitors stopping by our booth, it was a great opportunity to share what we do, talk about sustainability, and connect with others who care about protecting our environment.
Thank you for representing Geo and engaging with your neighbors on these important topics, Lisa!

Krewe D'Geo showed up for APWA Washington's Spring Conference in a carnival kind of mood. And that's no geohazard, it's just Rocky the giant pet rock, star of their parade float! I also hear there are prizes on offer if you can find enough King Cake Babies in that big tub of beads.👶
If you're in Vancouver for the conference, be sure to swing by and see Layne Alfonso, Andrea Rocha, Garrett Sheets (pictured with Rocky!), Ian Parker, Sean Cool, Aaron Waggoner, Lyle Stone, and David Conlin to talk about our services for public works clients!
