When there's a request for an American Gothic style couple photo, you say YASSS. How better to announce that you bought a new house, got a gargantuan cat, and are in love with your industrial vacuum? Swipe for vacuum photo (cropped badly because it's IG so check out my stories for the full frame).

I'm back! Between lockdown, the holidays, and my phone taking a swim in the laundry (with all my account passwords and access lost into the abyss), I have been AWOL for awhile but an now back in full swing. Weddings, engagements, family everything ahead - I'm your gal pal. Phew, 2020, you were brutal, but 2021 has brought a little light of hope.
Here's some cuteness from a fun family session!

I got the amazing opportunity to photograph fundraiser gala - they're raising money to get youth into the gym for free and to keep the sliding fee scale for adults. So cool. The gala was at an amazing location and after raising lots of $$, everyone got into the floor and DANCED. And danced. And danced. Next time, remind me to get in there and join them - they were having a blast. 🏋️♂️🏋️♀️

And all the time I know,
Plant your love and let it grow.
Let it grow, let it grow,
Let it blossom, let it flow.
In the sun, the rain, the snow,
Love is lovely, let it grow.

Hello, everyone! It seemed like about time I do another one of these, and it fit well for . Yep, that's me, in full dorkiness, lovingly captured by my friend Amanda . It's me in a nutshell, and you can definitely tell which side of the camera I tend to stay on. You can also find nuggets of my geekiness and fandoms hidden throughout my website! Here's some facts, 54321 style:
5️⃣ jobs that I have or have had - I have had a plethora of jobs, often a multitude at once, but here are a few: I taught swimming lessons to kids at my hometown pool, sold fireworks at a local fireworks stand, was a barista (I Miss the free lattes), and CURRENTLY, other than my normal photo work, I am a photographer at celebrity photo ops at conventions (6 years and counting), and I teach ESL (English as a Second Language) to adults!
4️⃣things I always pack when photographing a wedding/have a long day of shooting - advil, water, sour patch kids, trail mix
3️⃣favorite things about myself- first of all, no question, my freckles. Then, my height (I actually love being tall) and perseverance
2️⃣Places I want to travel to next - this is tough, I REALLY want to explore more Asia, so, Japan? Iceland - for the natural beauty and because my husband and I are astronomy tourism geeks.
1️⃣a big dream you have - photographing more hiking engagements and elopements! Hit me up!
Tell me something about you, I love to know who reads all the way to the bottom of these 💙......................................

It's a throwback to my good old college days in Bozeman, where I met Tomomi and we did fashion shoots with my Holga. Now we're in Snohomish and Hawaii respectively, both have babies and I'm still shooting film (still modeling, Tomomi? 😜).

We're 20 days into 2020, and I've just started reflecting on my goals and good habits. The word of the year is "progress", and so far I'm making it, slowly and steadily.
Progress on my website, which has needed to be reconstructed for WAY too long.
Progress on moving my body - have felt a little stagnant and stiff since recovering from having a baby. Anyone else feel like sun-bleached, crunchy plastic when they don't exercise?
Progress on creative projects - I don't know what it is about having a baby (for me), but once that baby fog cleared (at 10 months...), I NEEDED to do something creative. Something that fed my soul. Anyone else?
Tell me about your progress and successes! Are you working on anything creative?
