This event is to support the L&D nursing staff who are being displaced. Please join if you are able.

Kaiser management has made the decision to close the Kaiser midwifery group that practices at the state's largest hospital - Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. This popular group of certified nurse midwives help improve maternal and neonatal health in a caring, evidence based, manner. This is such a bad decision! We need more midwives rather than less if we are to move from the bottom of the 49th spot on a list of 49 industrialized countries for maternal and infant outcomes. If you have a moment, consider copying the email I am posting in the first comment and sending to executives [email protected] and [email protected] letting them know this is a bad bad idea!

Tomorrow (Tuesday 2/20) is the February Virtual MEC Meet Up. All perinatal professionals are welcome. When I had an office and classroom, I called the space the Muza Education Center (MEC!) and we would meet in person, during the MEC Meet Up, but since 2/20, we have been meeting online and that continues.
