A great lesson from our mid-winter break chess camp last week. Coach Steve explains how to solve this rook and king endgame puzzle using what’s called a “waiting move”. In this puzzle, white must use a waiting move to force the black king into the right square to checkmate on the next move. Sometimes you have to think outside the box to find the right move and it’s always amazing to see our young students grasp these advanced concepts.
