Our Stratford Preparatory School project in Milpitas, CA will serve 500 students in around 60,000sf. An existing office and manufacturing building will be repurposed and revitalized, with lively interior spaces that encourage a variety of learning modes. A new gym and site play field will create an enhanced campus feel with the school's younger program on an adjacent site. Featured on the gym's west side over open space, large 25' tall public art panels will represent education's value to society.

This Western Washington early learning center renovation and addition revitalizes existing spaces and brings natural light and view into and through all areas, while providing interior materials that are warm and nurturing for young learners. Each classroom also offers a stylized ‘porch’ entry, where student work can be displayed to the community at large.

The Brightmont Academy - Seattle project is moving rapidly through construction and is set to open Fall 2022. A simple and classic organization can make a lot out of little. Classrooms will ring the exterior and leave the generous center to provide a series of informal learning and gathering spaces. The school offers a one-to-one teaching model, where every student has an individualized curriculum and a close relationship with their teacher to maximize each person's potential.

We are busy working away and have taken some time to share photography of the BASIS Brooklyn project. Congratulations to BASIS, Savcon Construction, AMA, Silman, Longman Lindsay, RDA, PHA, Vitacco, Cushman Wakefield and all partners who made this imaginative project happen on a tight schedule during the pandemic, in NYC.

The 65,000 square foot BASIS Independent Brooklyn serves 385 PreK through Grade 2 students with expansive exterior windows that engage the surrounding city and bring light deep into each learning space. Throughout every floor, the design also layers in a story of the school’s Brooklyn Bear mascot growing up in New York City from early childhood to working professional, using interactive graphics and mechanical play elements to inspire young dreamers.

Happy new year to all, our BASIS Manhattan Upper School project opened Fall 2021 and the photos have arrived to kick off 2022, a huge kudos to the overall OAC team in this environment.

The design highlights the existing character of this former factory and Chelsea Art Museum, honoring the building’s rich 100 year life. Within these historic bones, learning spaces will gather around a central glass stair and atrium that brings rare and invaluable natural light into the middle of a square New York City block.
