The Bad News: interest rates went up this week. The : The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), through the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), announced a 30-basis point reduction to the annual mortgage insurance premiums (annual MIP) charged to homebuyers who obtain an FHA-insured mortgage! That pesky MIP is always a bummer for buyers (especially on FHA loans), but for a $550k mortgage this will save a buyer almost $140/month on MIP! A step in the right direction for housing

Fun Fact - Thomas Jefferson took a great deal of inspiration from English philosopher John Locke who believed mankind's inalienable rights included "Life, Liberty and the Right to Own Property."
