I have been hanbuilding some vases with this luscious brown clay. Carving through it is like carving through layers of chocolate. It is so satisfying. I can’t wait to see what the glaze I’ve chosen does on this organic texture!

After a little "break" in creativity this past year...I'm looking forward to stepping into this new year with my heart turning towards creative energy to help squash out the news and negativity. While the world turns in the background, I am focusng on creating joyful art to keep my focus on what is good in the world. I'm especially excited to be exploring the gifts from nature and the garden. Flower sculptures, vases to hold live flowers, bee cups to provide water for the pollinators, garden meditation domes and totems to sweeten garden spaces....and serveware with plant and flower designs to celebrate the bounty of summer gardens. The tactile quality of forming, carving and refining the work is so calming. My little studio is a magical place.

Wow- I am so grateful for Saturday - a whirlwind day of sharing, connecting, and laughing. Meeting so many friends - old and new. West Seattle was shining in art love during the . I didn’t have much time to take any photos except the ones I grabbed before the day began. But I’m so grateful for the lovely energy that folks brought to the day. What fun! And the best thing? Being with fellow artists and .ceramics
