Choosing rest as an act of care after the busy holiday season. It’s strange to vacation while the U.S. feels heavy and uncertain—but music reminds us why we keep going, creating, and tending to one another. Refilling the well, so we can come back steady. 🌊

Our little Bella is the perfect model for our Lavender Cedar Nettles Dog Shampoo. She desperately needed a bath after a beach walk this week. You can find us this Sat and Sunday if your pups are in need of a gentle shampoo bath too! You can also find it ! We craft each bar with the same high-quality, plant-infused oils we use for our human soaps, but formulated especially for dogs—no harsh detergents, no unnecessary additives, just pure, gentle cleansing straight from the forest and field.

Formulated with love for dogs with sensitive skin, this gentle shampoo bar brings together three of our favorite plant allies for our four-legged companions. Lavender soothes skin and nerves alike—calming irritation, easing stress, and helping to naturally repel fleas and mosquitoes. Stinging nettles, one of our most trusted herbal friends, support healthy skin and coat while offering allergy relief for pups who need a little extra care. And western red cedar—gathered from fallen or gifted branches after storms—adds its earthy, forest-fresh scent while helping keep pesky bugs at bay.

Special care for the winter-worn skin and the winter-worn soul. Soulstice Salve is crafted with wild rose hips and petals, calendula flowers, Tulsi (holy basil), yarrow, crab apple blossom, and Grand fir slowly infused in organic olive oil, then blended with organic shea butter, beeswax, and essential oils of rose and blood orange. These rich, nurturing ingredients soothe dry skin while supporting the emotional heart, encouraging courage, and offering a moment of calm in uncertain times.

Keep it on your desk, kitchen counter, favorite chair, or yoga mat for self-care that’s always within reach. Perfect for gifting to friends and loved ones who feel the weight of the world—especially those in activist and organizing circles. As someone wisely said, “Uncertainty is your stage, not your cage.” Soulstice Salve helps you step onto that stage with steadied hands, a softened heart, and the support of loving plants from Whidbey Island.

The plant symbol in our logo represents calendula — the bright, golden flower at the heart of many of our herbal creations. Known for its gentle healing power, calendula soothes the skin, supports repair, and brings a touch of sunshine. It’s a symbol of care, resilience, and the vibrant life force we infuse into all we make.

The sun is the source of growth and vitality, nurturing everything it touches. Serena, like the sun, thrives in the light of connection, bringing energy, encouragement, and inspiration wherever she goes. Her compassion is bright, her leadership steady, and her creative vision bold — she turns imagination into action, just as the sun encourages seedlings to bloom.

The moon represents Mariah, embodying a quiet strength — ever-present, steady through cycles of change, and deeply attuned to nature’s rhythms. She reflects light in the darkness, reminding us that groundedness doesn’t mean stillness but a graceful constancy amid change.

The mischievous fox represents our daughter, Ruby, always playful and on the move; feisty but with a heart of gold. When Mariah was pregnant with Ruby she caught a few glimpse of foxes on the trail near our home at the time. Ruby was then born with red hair and proved to be an independent soul from the start. The fox analogy was solidified.

Before we reveal our rebrand, we gratefully honor Lori Kane, the original founder of Ritual Mischief — the wise woman whose hands and heart started it all. 💚 Her herbal wisdom, passed down through generations, still guides us. Our products remain rooted in her original plant-infused formulations — steeped in tradition, care, and a little mischief. ✨ Thanks Lori! Your passion inspires us daily!

Here’s to the ritual, the lineage, and the women who keep the magic alive. 🌿

We’re pausing our online store to rebrand and grow into our next chapter! Our online shop is temporarily closed until Nov 3rd while we refresh our look and make more herbal goodness for the holiday season. Great weather yesterday for lavender transplanting! Thanks to Caitlin and Sam at Whidbey Herbal for letting us buy some of their beautiful Grosso lavender plants. And thanks to niece Camille and Papa Jim for help with planting. It’s a family affair!
