MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 4

My name is Ms. Mills, and I have been teaching Special Education at Summit Atlas for the past 8 years! I was born and raised in Ohio, and outside of the classroom I’m a huge fan of scary movies and cheering on the Mariners at games. My partner Trent and I also love getting away to Whidbey Island whenever we can. At home, I’ve got my two dogs, Zoe and Oliver, keeping me company!

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 3

My name is Ms. Wilk, and I have been teaching High School Science at Summit Atlas for the past six years. Before teaching at Atlas, I was an 8th-grade physical Science teacher and museum educator in my home state of Virginia. In my free time, I enjoy whitewater kayaking (which I also teach!), running, hiking, and camping. To relax, I enjoy doing yoga and reading in my hammock! 😊

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 2

My name is Ms. Kent, I’ve been teaching science for the past 12 years! This is my 3rd year at Atlas, but my 8th year with Summit overall. I am the 7th grade science teacher and a 7th grade Mentor. Before switching to middle school I taught high school biology, AP environmental science, and Physics! In my free time I love reading and crafting. I crochet, sew, and make earrings. I also love cooking and baking, and love using fresh ingredients from my personal garden. I grew up in Los Angeles, California, but spent a lot of time in Washington as a kid. I loved it so much that I decided to move here permanently to become a teacher!

MEET THE STAFF MONDAY 💛 - Episode 1

My name is Ms. Park, and I have been teaching English for the past 6 years! This is my first year at Summit Atlas, and I will be the 8th grade English teacher as well as one of the 6th grade mentors. Before teaching at Summit Atlas, I was at Summit Sierra teaching 9th grade English, 12th grade AP Literature, Yearbook, and ASB. In my free time I love to learn new crafts (currently my obsession is embroidery), do yoga, read a ton, write poetry, cook, spend time with my partner and see my mom in Tacoma. I also love to go on long walks, antiquing/thrifting, trying new foods, and finding new places to travel/explore to find seaglass.

From day one, our students are building the habits, relationships, and skills that will carry them through this year and beyond. Whether it’s collaborating on team challenges or diving into core classes, our community is already hard at work.
