We’re 65% of the way to our spring campaign goal! 🎉
Thanks to the generosity of this community, we’re making strong progress toward Connecting Our World, One Leader at a Time — and there’s still time to help us reach the finish line.
Even better: matching dollars remain, which means your gift can go twice as far to support OneWorld Now! students as they build language skills, leadership capacity, confidence, and global connections.
The campaign ends May 31st, so now is a powerful moment to give.

Please join us in welcoming Ann Lam to the OneWorld Now! Board of Directors!
Ann is a Senior Customer Success Manager at Amazon, where she leads strategic partnerships with top apparel brands and oversees end-to-end business strategy. She began her career supporting diverse student talent pipelines, and today she continues to champion access, representation, and opportunity for young people.
A South Seattle native, Franklin High School alumna, first-generation college graduate, Fulbright Award recipient, and OneWorld Now! alumna, Ann knows firsthand how global education can shape a young person’s sense of possibility.
“Growing up in South Seattle, global opportunities didn’t always feel accessible,” Ann shared. “As an OWN alumna, I saw how exposure can expand not just your world, but your belief in what’s possible. Access changes trajectories and I’m proud to help create that for the next generation.”
Ann’s own journey has taken her from South Seattle to study abroad in Italy, two Fulbright experiences, and travel to 30 countries before age 30. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Community for Youth and regularly returns to Seattle Pacific University and South Seattle schools as a guest speaker, sharing her career journey and advocating for greater access to higher education and representation in business leadership.
We’re grateful to have Ann’s leadership, lived experience, and deep commitment to access as part of OneWorld Now!’s work to connect our world, one leader at a time.
Welcome, Ann!

Please join us in welcoming Wes Kovarik to the OneWorld Now! Board of Directors.
Wes brings a deep commitment to global education, language learning, and civic leadership. As an Associate Managing Director at Quinlan Partners, a global due diligence, investigations, and business intelligence firm, Wes understands how cross-cultural skills and global perspective shape strong leaders.
Born in Vancouver, Canada, and raised across Canada and the U.S., Wes calls the Pacific Northwest home. His own experiences studying abroad in Ghana and studying French and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian/Montenegrin helped shape his belief in the power of international education. A proud alum of the University of Washington, Wes is an active member of the World Affairs Council, Association for Corporate Growth, and Seattle Frontrunners.
Upon joining the OneWorld Now! Board, Wes shared:
"OWN’s mission to provide inclusive and accessible international education programming resonates with me deeply, especially at a time when already limited resources to study less commonly taught languages and develop key leadership skills with a focus on globally-centered citizenship are under continued threat. While the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest have many pressing current and future challenges, we are also uniquely positioned to succeed in the 21st century. Future civic and business leaders within our local communities, like OWN students, have both the deep responsibility and incredible opportunity to help ensure our home is vibrant, inclusive, just, and prosperous in the years to come. OWN’s impactful work, and committed support from neighbors and friends, is crucial to prepare this next generation of globally-minded local leaders for our shared future success."
We’re grateful to have Wes’ perspective, experience, and passion for globally minded leadership as part of OneWorld Now!’s work to connect our world, one leader at a time.
Welcome, Wes!
2025 was a year of transition, resilience, and community building for OneWorld Now! and through it all, our students kept growing as language learners, global citizens, and leaders.
This year, our community helped OWN students:
🌏 Study abroad in Taiwan
🎤 Lead the Get Global showcase
📚 Earn language credit through our summer program
💬 Build confidence, curiosity, and cross-cultural skills
Even as OWN navigated leadership changes and a shifting funding landscape, our vision remained clear: a world where all young people have access to transformative international education.
We are deeply grateful to the donors, partners, volunteers, alums, students, parents, teachers, staff, and advocates who made this work possible.
