It's gender reveal time for our first baby, coming April 2023 ππππππ

How on earth do I get so damn messy when tiling?β£
β£
For real, every time I tackle this task I tell myself I'll be less messy... and then the chaos ensues π³β£
β£
Ah well, I suppose I will just have to go thrifting for some more project clothes π β£
β£
Making another mess tonight - let's finish this wall!

Last night's progress has me giddyπ€©β£
β£
I am loving these two tiles so much, I'm dying to finish tiling this room!β£
β£
Tonight we will finish these floors, and starting Sunday we will tile the shower walls! After that, it's grouting time and we are on our way to the finish line for the room!β£
β£
Speaking of grout, would love to know your opinion - light or dark grout with the blue star tiles?

It's been a damn good week for the bathroom!β£β£
β£β£
We've gotten the pocket door finished, electrical done, vanity purchased, all shower plumbing finished, kerdi board installed, drywall boards installed, and now the shower tray and curb are done!β£β£
β£β£
Today's focus: finish waterproofing the shower. β£β£
β£β£
This is a big step forward and I'm excited to do it but also be ready for the next part of the shower... tiling! β£
β£
Swipe to remember where we started β‘οΈ We have lots left to do but really wanted to take a moment to appreciate what we've done so far π it's all about the journey, right!?

All the feels here because the pocket door is in! π€£πͺβ£β£

If you're questioning why you're following me after seeing this photo, then you are not alone. β£

Now give me your best caption β¬οΈβ¬οΈ
Are throwback Thursdays still a thing? I'm not sure, but I'm doing it anyways.β£
β£
My mind is always looking forward, always thinking about what's next, and I rarely spend time appreciating what I've accomplished so far today. I want to really start working on my gratitude for the entire journey, and in turn inspire you to do the same.β£
β£
To kick the first one off: a tile job that makes me feel pride like none other.β£
β£
It was not only about the herringbone install (my 2nd tile job ever) but also the design decision. To my and my lack of style/design knowledge and experience, this felt bold and big to mix tiles and do a full wall, and yet it was probably the one decision decision I hesitated the least on. I am still so in love with this wall, the open floor plan let's you see it from almost everywhere in the house and draws you towards this kitchen.β£
β£
Woo! π It feels good to appreciate my own work, and now I want to have you feel the same! β£
β£
Tell me about something you're proud of doing this last year, and let's celebrate our wins together π

This "pony wall" is coming together - and is .β£
β£
is letting me know I need to hurry up and finish this thing so she can get some proper sunbathing done here. β£
β£
I just finished the trim "door" panels this morning and will be attaching these tonight! β£
β£
I'm considering trying my hand at epoxying a "marble" top for this - mostly just to try it and learning that skill would allow me to refinish kitchen counters on the cheap. What do you think? Stick to a warm wood tone or try the epoxy?

When there's a will, there's a way.β£
β£
Not enough hands/muscle? Try your legs. They are surprisingly very useful backups at random times π€£β£
β£
I've driven head first into this entryway project. Pop over to my stories to see what the heck I'm making today!
& have a beautiful dayπ

The before and after that always makes my heart skip a beatπβ£
β£
The deep cleaning and finishing efforts around the house are still ongoing, and the kitchen just got cleaned so of course I had to take the opportunity to snap a pic. Honestly, I would much rather be demolishing the main bathroom today as scheduled, but here's the thing about DIY renovations: you can't only work on what you want to or when you feel like it. π€―π β£
β£
So although it isn't super duper fun, it super duper needs to be done. β£
β£
If something came to mind in your house when you just read that, I'm curious (read: nosy) and want to know what it is! Tell me I'm not the only one with a honey do list for multiple rooms!
09/09/2020
I mean, did you even build anything sturdy if you don't stand on it and post a pic? β£β£
β£β£
The first 10 mins of taking this photo was me just trying to figure out how to hang on - and yes, there are many awful outtakes to this one photo. The things I do for this page π
β£β£
β£β£
Today is the day - these incredibly easy DIY garage shelves are happening! Let's gooooooo πͺ

If only these girls knew how spoiled they really areπβ£
β£
The catshelf is done! I'll be honest and say I'll probably change some of this later, thinking I want to add some low profile carpet to some shelves and I definitely feel the need for more faux plants. But in the meantime, this is going to make me really happy and provide function for us. We really need somewhere up high to feed the cats because the dog think their food is better or something πΆβ£
β£
Thank you, Molly for hosting and giving me the excuse I needed to do something fun in the midst of major reno projects. β£
β£
Thanks for following along with this one, and for your support through my mistake π β£
β£
and now... what do you think of the color?! Love it? Hate it? Surprised? Saw it coming? My skirt today was a major accidental hint π

It's on the grid, so it's official now: the bathroom is DONE.β£
β£
I mean, it's been done for awhile, but I've been tinkering around with decor in my "free time". I'm learning from my girl Meryl and learning to embrace the journey of decor/style/rooms coming to be, rather than expecting it to be perfect before it can be shared.β£ Plus, you know I am really in this for the renovation aspect, I am not on here pretending to be a decor account by any means π
β£
Total cost: $2,444.00β£
Floor tile & supplies: $185β£
Shower waterproofing (kerdi), supplies & tile: $998β£
Vanity, light & faucet: $597β£
Shower hardware and plumbing supplies: $190β£
Tub: $379β£
Dump fees: $95β£
β£
We did this 100% ourselves as usual so no labor costs. The total renovation took about 10 weeks.β£ I learned a LOT from while tackling new-to-me projects.
β£
I hope you're ready to do another one of these, because we have a 2nd bathroom to do! π
