Rainier Square

Rainier Square Tower is a mixed-use skyscraper currently under construction in the Metropolitan Tract of Downtown Seattle, Washington.

The 850-foot (260 m) tall, 58-story tower will be located at Union Street between 4th and 5th Avenues adjacent to the existing Rainier Tower, and will be the second-tallest building in Seattle upon completion. The $600 million project is scheduled to be completed by 2020. In addition to 722,000 of office space, there will be 185 residential apartments, retail spaces, an organic market, and a stand-alone 12 story hotel.

The American Council of Engineering Companies has awarded Rainier Square an Engineering Excellence Award for the unique and innovative engineering design developed by project engineers, Magnusson Klemencic Associates, including 3D-printed components and steel-plate composite-core technology that was being used in the defense and nuclear industries. The engineers converted this tech into the SpeedCore system for high-rise construction. Well done and thank you, Magnusson Klemencic.

Excited to announce that Fonte Cafe and Restaurant will be opening later this year in Rainier Square. Owner, Paul Odom, had this to say: “I believe that Seattle wants to be entertained again. I hope this collaboration inspires downtown Seattle’s 2.0 version and brings much-needed play back to our dynamic city,” says Odom. Odom is certain that offering a cool coffee and cocktails dining experience where people can gather and be social will help jump-start the process. “Envision New York’s Eataly by day and old Nomad Bar by night as inspiration for the concept.” The store will operate in Rainier Square’s expansive main floor lobby, serving indoor lounge and outdoor courtyard seating all day and into the night.
