Boom! Bap!

I just found this photo of the broadcast desk that i set up a few months ago at Quiet Please Recording for an AES meeting via Zoom that i co-hosted with Matthew Sutton.

It was fun to hang a couple my classic RCA ribbons up on the Starbird 180 boom stands, just because I can. Why not, right?

If i recall, i think we swapped them out for an EV RE-20 and a Shure SM7b at the last minute. Equally as classic for a broadcast desk.

It was a good meeting. And we sounded great, of course.

A beautiful and super rare Vollan Drums kit, being expertly played by the man who made them, Mr. Mark Vollan.

One of the greatest drum sounds i’ve ever heard. I used 4 mics, the rest was all Mark.
