I got to pop in to the nearby Neptune theater to see perform last night.

John - what a tremendous talent you are. The lyrics are raw, relatable, funny, sad, thought provoking, and visual. The singing shows a ton of range and emotionality. The piano playing filled with so many interesting chord changes and moments of dissonance.

And the live set was just right. As a synth artist myself I sometimes struggle to strike the right balance between the programmed nature of synths vs raw live performance. I loved that John sat down at a grand piano and just played 70-80% of the set with absolutely zero safety net. This is the stuff that I love about music.
