What a wonderful Star Wars Celebration Japan! Here are a few pics from this weekend.

It's been 10 years since I first attended a convention in cosplay. It was at Emerald City Comic Con in 2015 and was, of course, Indiana Jones. My family did a Temple of Doom theme. Here is a side by side from then with the most recent ECCC earlier this month. Some things are the same while some have changed. Fortune and glory always.

Had a fantastic time at Emerald City Comic Con this year with my family. Enjoyed seeing friends, meeting new people and spending time in artist alley Highlights were seeking out Indy cosplayers and meeting up with Starship Troopers Mobile Infanty. Rico's Roughnecks!

I've had a busy year in 2024, attending several conventions and other costumed events. We've had tons of fun. Here's a sampling of the different events and maybe a cosplay from each. Hope your year has been more positive than not. Looking forward to the fun events in 2025! Prost! 🍻

The first convention I ever attended was in the spring (March or April) of 1996. I don't really know the name. I remember it was advertised as a Star Trek and Star Wars convention. It had actors from both properties, they signed autographs for like $10 each, had panels and there was a vendor hall. I think admission was $20 for the day and included one autograph ticket.

I met Jimmy Doohan, Peter Mayhew and David Prowse there.

I was pretty sure it was in this basement level meeting space of a Ramada. I have figured out it was likely the Ramada Inn in New Carrollton, MD.

Maybe one day I'll figure out the name of this little gem.

One of my favorite movies is Starship Troopers. Loved it since the day it came out. Was super excited to get to meet so many of the cast this weekend at WA State Horror Con.

Got to meet several Mobile Infantry troopers as well. Loved the great cosplay from everyone!

I was able to first cosplay as an MI trooper during DragonCon earlier this year.

Looking forward to the next time.
