Born in Portland, Oregon, Jesse LeDoux worked for many years as an art director for Seattle-based Sub Pop Records where he created iconic album and poster artwork for such artists as the Shins ('Best album packaging' Grammy nominee for Chutes Too Narrow), Iron and Wine and Death Cab for Cutie before leaving in 2004 to focus on his client-based and personal work at LeDouxville. Look at this! Jasen Samford is now in the LeDoux-for-Life Club. He'll probably live forever now.
I created this digital installation with for the lobby at Second and Seneca in Seattle. It measures 26'x9'. I was asked to interpret the theme SEATTLE NATIVE. Since the vertical columns of the displays looked like digital totem poles, it made sense to use them in a similar way as Pacific Coast Native Americans--to tell stories. Each element tells a part of Seattle's history.
