We are on mission to bring "lift" to Seattle neighborhoods by gathering around weekly dinner tables.

“So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.’ And the servant said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’ And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:21-24‬ ‭

Reminded of the verse last night as we literally went underneath highways and into the hedges...

We are so proud of our teams who continually show up to love their neighbors.

“What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:30-32‬ ‭

“The rich nations must use their vast resources of wealth to develop the underdeveloped, school the unschooled, and feed the unfed. Ultimately a great nation is a compassionate nation. No individual or nation can be great if it does not have a concern for ‘the least of these.’” Martin Luther King Jr.

We used to serve at Ballard Commons Park every summer. As a way to celebrate the heat and have a bbq and hang and laugh with friends from all walks of life. The sun would shine on all of our faces and we would tell stories about Jesus and His great love. Tonight was a stark contrast to those days. It was impossibly windy and wet and dark. Time was limited, the ability to gather was limited and you couldn’t see smiles because our faces were covered with masks and hoods... but you know what? We still laughed a lot and told stories about Jesus because the joy we have in serving and loving our neighbors carried us through... at times it’s all we have.

“Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said,

“They need not go away; you give them something to eat.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:15-16‬

““A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.””

‭‭John‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭NIV‬‬
