Here are some answers to some FAQs:

Yes I am very sad about it.

No there's nothing I can do.

No I can't see a doctor yet because I can't afford one.

Yes I spent everything I had on rent to keep this place open. I couldn't eat regularly and now suffering the consequences of malnourishment.

Yes it is painful. I have extreme nerve pain all the time, I can't
I haven't been able to hold ANY weight with my dominant arm since November.

No I can't get another job. I don't have the skills for typical WFH jobs and some days my body is too bad to do anything. When the nerve pain is screaming, I can't even understand what people are saying to me. I will have to continue being self employed but that will be in an artist capacity henceforth.

No I can't get on disability right now. That takes years and doctors. Self employed people can't even get unemployment, they had to make special C19 rules to include us in the unemployment systems. (In Texas)

No I don't know where I'm going to live yet. But that is the next thing I have to tackle after I close up shop.

Yes this is why small businesses are closing left and right.

Anyway, watch this space. I will have more time for content after I've moved next month.

๐ŸšซCLOSED THIS WEEK๐Ÿšซ in solidarity
with the Global Strยกke that lasts ALL WEEK LONG.

There is one caveat I would like to add, however.

I don't like the phrasing of "avoid leisure activities"
The blurb clarifies what they mean - spending money on recreational activities like going to a movie.

But "leisure activity" is very important for activists. You HAVE to rest, you have to recharge, in order to avoid burnout.

Let's not conflate "spending money on recreation" with "leisure activity" because that's the conditioning of Late Stage Capitalism talking.

It has been 3 months and counting, many of us in a continued state of active or 2nd hand trauma, we simply cannot do this without taking rest. ESPECIALLY those of us who are disabled and already had a lot of body problems going on.

This week is about solidarity with P-stine, doing everything we can to HALT THE ECONOMY, and using that action to spotlight the P-stinian cause. But even if you spend 12 hours a day on activitism and advocacy, you probably need to relax at some point or you won't be able to sleep... that's where the leisure activity comes in.

But "leisure activity" doesn't always mean spending money. Those of us in poverty know this well. In most cases you can literally go to a public park nearby. That's good for your central nervous system and it doesn't cost anything (if getting there is free). You can read/listen to books online from the library for free. You can play games or watch movies you already own. You can finally get to that craft project you never started....

This battle is about prioritizing human rights and community care, and that includes taking care of yourself. As long as you don't use self care as an excuse to avoid the conversation altogether (to "check out of politics") then self care and leisure is still a good thing. Again, as long as it's FREE.

So keep being vocal, keep advocating, educating, demonstrating, boycotting, shut it down.....
..but, as cat people say,
you can have a little salami (๐Ÿ†“๏ธ leisure activity) as a treat. ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›

For educational purposes, which is why I have not censored any words.

๐Ÿ’› The text highlighted in yellow is from ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—๐—ฟ'๐˜€ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—น. One of these days, I'll quote something else, but since "โœ‹๐Ÿป ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€" keep missing the point and I'll keep reminding them. And myself because I, too, could fall back into this trap if I don't actively work against it at every turn. 61 years later, our society is still built this way... to favor negative peace.

๐Ÿ’— The text highlighted in pink is from a December article in The New Arab about the f4$ci$m present in Germany today, in regards to its unquestioning support of ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ.

I have inserted this article before continuing with the MLK letter because I do not want anyone to misconstrue my meaning in highlighting this quote. MLK is on the side of freedom fighters, against unjust laws, and against segregation and apartheid... all things people are arguing about today. Just because he said he would support his Jewish brethren in WW2, does not mean he would be "Team Izzy" today. There's definitely a quote that supports this, but I felt the Birmingham letter speaks to many other important things going on now: ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ โœ‹๐Ÿป ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ป ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€, favoring comfort or a "negative peace"... In honor of Bowie's deathiversary January 10th... technically tomorrow, but it's midnight soon in London.

Here are some photos from the last normal vacation of my life, before the pandemic changed everything and visibly aged me 20 years (not that I'm complaining about the wisdom gained in exchange).

I always have to make these little pilgrimages each time I visit London:

1. ๐Ÿ–ผ The Brixton mural outside the tube station, there's even some writing under the plexiglass from when my friends and I were there in 2016 (RIP )

2. โ˜Ž๏ธ The Ziggy Stardust telephone booth on Heddon Street, Oxford Circus (or is it considered SoHo?), with details of graffiti.

3. ๐Ÿ  The Birthplace of Bowie Also in Brixton, a few blocks away from the mural. This was the first time I went to this one. Felt super weird being weird in front of a random house but it's marked on the map so they must get freaks like me all the time. Anyway I stole some moss from the bricks outside. Totally normal.

First I started going to the phone booth every year, then the mural, and now I've added the childhood home like a ๐Ÿซ

What stop should I add next to my Bowie Tour?
If I ever make it overseas again, that is.

As someone who was raised athiest and never indoctrinated into any religion, it's actually wild that this is the most I have talked about Christmas or Jesus in my entire life... but unfortunately, that is due to the atrocities currently occurring in the region perpetuated by our government and a president I voted for because "he's the lesser evil" right? ๐Ÿคก Boy howdy, did that sentiment age poorly. Oof, yikes, etc.
