Iona Handcrafted Books is a bookbinding studio in Seattle, Washington specializing in creating journals by hand using centuries old techniques! All of our books are based on a traditional Italian design Mychal learned in Venice in 1993. Because of their time-tested design and materials, these books are made for adventure! Seattle..I'm mixing things up this weekend! I will be opening my shop to the public during the fabulous Fremont Fair! Sat 10-8pm/Sunday 11-6pm. (I'm in the alley btwn 34th and 35th off of Evanston. Look for my signs!) I will NOT be at the lovely Edmonds Arts Festival this weekend since it's difficult to be 2 places at once! Do both this weekend! But most importantly.... support artists! We need it, and appreciate it way more than that Bezos guy does! ; )

Day 3 in Bulgaria… on the road from Plovdiv to Veliko Tarnovo is the lovely Staro Zhelezare. Since 2015, art students have descended upon this town of 400 every summer to paint images of the locals on the village walls alongside international celebrities and politicians. The result is something to behold!

Vera returned this year for her 2nd journal..and her brother Landon chose his first! They spent hours finding the perfect books… they were pure delight( as you can see!) ! Can’t wait to see them again next year, and to see how they’ve filled them. ❤️📚
