Retail Therapy

This is a big beautiful complicated life. On June 3rd we will be closed to celebrate a big milestone. The baby you used to see in a crib behind the counter is now grown. Now you might catch him working the shop on occasion. But on June 3rd we are gonna take a much deserved break.

Big thanks to all who came out tonight to see both spaces. I’m filled with gratitude the intention of night landed and so well received. Gives me hope for the world. Happy birthday to my Pops. Who was brave enough to participate in good trouble throughout his life. As a young man left all that was comfortable in Kabul to go 6950 miles to Chicago and study at IIT where he met one of his heroes Mies Van de Rohe. He also studied photography with Minor White who taught him the importance of presence And breath when capturing a moment. Continued his education at MIT and returned to Afghanistan where he helped start the school of Architecture and built in places people had long forgotten & helped change the landscape with his buildings. Everything I love about Art and Music I learned from my father. From my culture I learned how grief and joy often walk and hand in hand, and the art of resilience.
