Last week, students from the University of Washington Clean Energy Team joined White Center Heights Elementary 5th graders in S.T.E.A.M. class to connect solar panels and motors to the 5th graders' bamboo race cars that they have built! How amazing!
UW students held a presentation for students to learn about why solar energy is important and how it works. 5th graders proceeded to work in teams to figure out what the best angle for the solar panels to absorb more energy is and have the fastest car.
Thank you to the UW Clean Energy Team for visiting our students!

Thank you for visiting us at the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds!

The Clean Energy Institute at University of Washington was established in 2013 with funding from the State and brings together the next generation of energy leaders to research and innovate tech tools to the market. A great example of public/private partnership working to make our world a better place. I can't wait to see what they do next.
