Dear Community Friends,
Arts In Motion (or AIM) is a non-profit community school of the arts located in SE Seattle.
Our mission: foster artistic creativity and personal development through quality arts instruction, performance opportunities and community involvement. We offer our programs without regard to age, artistic aptitude or ability to pay. AIM is the only program of its kind in the Rainier Valley which provides year round sequential arts education to this specific under served community. Providing quality programs takes a great deal of resources and we believe our students are worth this effort!
We know experience in the arts helps children avoid high risk behavior and by rehearsing and performing they develop important life skills. In keeping with our mission we try to honor every request for financial assistance by providing scholarships, free programming and arts activities through generous donations of individuals and businesses. Together we can be the change we want to see in our community!
We hope that you would be able to collaborate with us in our upcoming Andante to Al Dente Fundraiser scheduled May 5, 2012. We are seeking donations of desserts, bread, pasta sauce, cheese, wine or beer, hard cider, gift certificates, or other silent auction items.
Thank you for your consideration!

“Happy Spring, Everyone!
Get ready to explore Columbia City in a whole new way! Our Street Scramble team has been exploring the diverse Columbia City terrain since February and we’re excited for our second annual dash through this neighborhood! A Street Scramble event features thirty locations circled on a map. On foot or bike, how many points can you visit in 90 minutes or in 3 hours?
Participants visit checkpoints in any order they choose; they earn points by answering a simple corresponding question. Those who visit, and answer the most amount of questions correctly are the winners! Be competitive or go casual. Race in a team or solo. With many registration categories, this event is fun for families, runners, cyclists, and anyone at any age who likes to explore.
Columbia City is both a Seattle Landmark District and on the National Registry of Historic Places. It is considered extremely walkable, making it perfect for our type of exploring. Also, just our luck, this neighborhood has three streets named after explorers:
Americus Street - Amerigo Vespucci
Ferdinand Street - Ferdinand Magellan
Hudson Street - Henry Hudson
Join us on Saturday, April 28, for our second annual Street Scramble event in Columbia City. The gracious Southside Commons will be our main headquarters for day-of racer needs. Check out our photos from the 2011 Columbia City Street Scramble. You can find more of us on Facebook and Twitter. Pre-register online at Active.com, or download and mail-in the pre-registration form.”
