I use to live in the basement of this home & rent out the upstairs 💯
This is the property that paved my way into real estate investing.
Bought this property July 2020. Peak of COVID.
It was definitely a scary time not just in the world but in this purchase decision as well.
While the world was in panic, I was searching for a deal.
Luckily there was a tenant living upstairs and the basement unit was vacant.
I figured if lived in the basement, essentially the tenant would be covering more than half of my mortgage.
My out of pocket costs would be essentially less than if I were to go rent an apartment on my own.
The numbers just made too much sense for me to pass on this deal so I pulled the trigger and bought the property. 🎯
I lived there for a short while & after moving out I rented out the basement and started to collect cash flow. 💰
This property gave me enough confidence that exactly a year later I bought my next investment property by doing the same “house hack method”.
Rest is history, and here we are present day and the upstairs tenant has finally moved out.
Now it’s time to get started on this renovation project!
You don’t need to buy a property just to “raise a family” in it, sometimes you gotta buy property so you can learn the game of investing in real estate.
