Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓🎉

This spectacular cohort has “taught us so much,” Co-Head of School Giselle Furlonge said at last night’s commencement ceremony.

“How to show up for one another… How to adapt when circumstances change and how to keep building connection even when it doesn’t come easily.”

We celebrated their SAAS journeys with 7 student performances, 5 student speeches, student-made films, and more at McCaw Hall.

We can’t wait to watch what comes next!

Here’s what they’ll remember most about SAAS, as shared through our annual Senior Survey.

This week, seniors presented what they learned through their Senior Projects—four-week internships aligned with each student’s interests and aspirations.

Over the past month, they wrote grants, worked with elementary educators, observed courtroom proceedings, collaborated with conservationists, and much more.

This year’s 140+ project sites ranged from Seattle Children's Hospital and Microsoft to El Centro de la Raza and Mindful Therapy Group.

For Space Invaders—a Middle School Innovations project—6th graders interviewed SAAS faculty, staff, and community members about their workspace, how they use it, and what could be improved.

Then, they applied what they’d learned to design miniature prototypes. Replicas of classrooms, meeting spaces, stairwells, and more began to take shape with working parts — a standing desk, hidden storage compartments, and interactive wall decor.

A new tradition launched in the Upper School courtyard: Senior Sunset Dinner!

SAAS Track & Field is on fire 🔥

This past weekend, 14 Cardinals secured their spots at the 3A State Meet, which begins Thursday!

Earlier this season, several student-athletes earned Metro Champion titles:

🏆 Dio S. ’26 — 100m, 200m, and 400m Metro Champion

🏆 Jasper Elligani ’27 — Triple Jump Metro Champion

🏆 Dio S. ’26, Ray M. ’27, Russell S. ’27, and Ellis B. ’26 — Relay Team Champions

Plus, the team has celebrated eight new school records so far this season.

Some of Puget Sound’s lowest tides of the year beckoned nature lovers this week.

Among them: SAAS’s Middle School Adventure Club!

The club offers hiking, kayaking, camping skills, and more from March to May. No experience needed and no extra cost to families.
