Summer, summer, summer! Hard to believe it's almost the end of July. It's been a busy one here at Free Range and we've been slinging bikes at a wild pace, but I couldn't help but take a moment to be utterly charmed by this group of sweeties catching up over a flat fix. The little things, you know?

For those of you hoping to make the most out of August, know that we're currently about 2 weeks out on service.

Swing on by to tell us about your adventures this summer!

Cancel all your boring Tuesday night plans next month because May is Bike Everywhere Month, ya'll, and we're slinging bike classes every week!

Classes will all be held at Collective Chemistry in Ballard from 6:30-8pm. Sessions are "pay what you can" and cover a range of topics, including first up:

May 6th: "How to buy a used bike that isn't sh*t" with Luke!

Look, buying a bike is an investment, and we want to make sure you’re going to get a good return regardless of whether you’re buying new or used. In this seminar-style session we’ll cover:

*Tips to stay safe when meeting up with a seller
*Key things to check on the bike to assess fit/component wear
*Questions to ask before you throw down cash
*How to make sure you aren’t purchasing something that was previously stolen.

For anyone lusting after that vintage Schwinn or carbon Colnago on Craigslist (don't get that)–take this class first and save yourself some heartache (and $$!)

Coming up:

-May 13th: Basic Bike Maintenance with Shawna

-May 20th: Intro to Bike Packing with Shawna, Donald, and Special Guest!

-May 27th: "Bike B***y" Seminar with Shawna and Guests!

Want to learn how to install your fenders with a little help from your friends at Free Range? Well then take our “How to Install Your Own Fenders” class on Saturday, November 2nd from 9-11 am. This class will be 2 (ish) hours of hands-on fender installation. We’ll provide tools and instruction, you will provide pre-purchased fenders–available in most sizes at Free Range. We will only be installing plastic or aluminum full coverage pre-drilled fenders. This will not include installing Berthoud, Honjo or Rene Herse fenders. A set of Portland Design Works fenders from Free Range Cycles would be a great choice for this class. One thing we ask to help the class go smoothly is that you bring your bike and fenders by the shop before the session so we can ensure that everything is compatible. If you can't bring in your bike shoot us an email at [email protected] and we can do our best to accommodate you. You and your bike will leave ready to tackle the rainy streets of Seattle! (4 people max)
