Avast has been making it easy to record stellar records for nearly three decades! 32 years on, Avast! is more iconic than ever.

We've worked to provide a comfortable and professional space for you to create your next masterpiece. Studio A features a grand piano, spacious floor, and a vintage Trident A-Range console for tracking. Studio B is an actual 1970's recording studio plus a huge control room that's inspiring and well equipped. A kitchen and espresso room make an inviting center to the building.Just add your music!

Avast! turns 35 years old today!
It has surely exceeded my wildest expectations.

Thanks to everyone that’s ever recorded here, and I hope you all have enjoyed the music that’s come out!

We are still here! Who could imagine 😊

A Gun Called Tension - 7th of May A Gun Called Tension (Cold Crush Records, 2005)

Love this.

RG @easystreetrecords • In late 1992, while taking a break from world tours, festivals, and a feeding frenzy on his hometown Seattle, Stone Gossard ( Green River, Mother Love Bone, @pearljam ) teamed up w bestie Regan Hagar (Malfunkshun, Satchel). Regan grabbed his ex Tower Record co-worker Shawn Smith (Pigeonhead,, Satchel) and they laid down some tracks. Stone brought up Silverlake/LA jazz head #JeremyToback to join them on bass. In 3 weeks, BRAD captured one of the grooviest and easy flowing soul stirring records of the era. Recorded at @avastrecording . Released April 27, 1993.

Here you’ll see the advance cassette. Funny story, initially, the name of the band was SHAME, but once it it was realized that this was Stone “Moneybags” Gossard’s band, a guy named Brad (guitar player in an unsigned band named SHAME) tried to sue Stone and Epic Records. Rather than lose any momentum, in typical Stone Gossard cheeky fashion, he said “Fine, our name is now going to be “BRAD”…and the album is gonna be called “SHAME”. A timeless classic w one of the great band name stories ever! This was a massive seller for us in 1993 and remains a PNW classic

We sadly lost Shawn Smith in 2019. His piano playing and vocals still with us. One of the great voices from Seattle! One of the sweetest souls to ever grace our store, our stage, and this city! Miss u Shawn. Check out his work w @unkfisk and Pigeonhead #lofidelityallstars, as well as all his solo work. We have here. Great work by @loosegrooverecords keeping his voice alive and these records in print!
