🎉We are thrilled to share Leadership Tomorrow’s Annual Report for the fiscal year September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024. This year was especially meaningful as we celebrated 40 years of cultivating a network of engaged leaders dedicated to addressing our region's toughest challenges.

When our founders met in 1983 to discuss the details of what would later become Leadership Tomorrow, they sought to unite and equip a sustainable and growing community of next-generation leaders with deep regional knowledge, cross-sector relationships, and effective leadership skills who could, in turn, inspire and engage others in building a healthy and equitable community for all.

Today, in a time of heightened polarity and division, that vision and Leadership Tomorrow’s work have never been more important.

It's inspiring to reflect on the impact of our collective efforts. From distributing more than 4 million books to support children's literacy, to revitalizing downtown Seattle, to countless alumni running for public office and serving on nonprofit boards and commissions—your leadership is creating ripples of positive change that will be felt for generations.

Thank you for being a vital part of the LT community. Your support makes this essential work possible!

For 40 years, Leadership Tomorrow has worked at the forefront of civic engagement to cultivate a network of inclusive, courageous, and curious leaders across Puget Sound. As we celebrate this special milestone, we are proud to highlight stories from LT alumni who continue to shape our region into a vibrant, vital community where all can thrive.

For our next story, we are pleased to feature Steve Dubiel, LT’01:

"I joined Leadership Tomorrow in 2000, shortly after moving to Seattle to take a job as the executive director of EarthCorps where I served for 22 years. I was attracted to LT as an opportunity to build my Seattle network. More than 20 years later, I still tap into my LT network, which not only includes my 2001 cohort, but an amazing LT staff and LT alumni from other cohorts with whom I regularly interact."

“It would not be an overstatement to say that Leadership Tomorrow completely changed my approach to leadership. The core values of equity, justice, inclusion, and civic engagement became central to my work and sense of self during and after my time at LT. It meant a lot to see that leadership can come in any form and in any title (or lack thereof)—and that someone who looks like me can absolutely lead.”

For our fifth story, we are excited to feature Bob Ness, LT’96. When asked to reflect on the impact of LT on his leadership and life, Bob said:

In my nearly retired phase of life, I consider engaging in the following activities—improbable and unexpected as some are—as profound delights from my time with LT:

🔹 Serving on the board of the National Community Leadership Association.
🔹 Working with executive teams in many of the region’s most important and successful corporations.
🔹 Co-consulting with an LT colleague to establish the National Arts Organization of Mongolia.
🔹 Creating diverse, multi-ethnic Russian-American teams that focused on inclusion and diversity through training and conferences in both Vladivostok and Seattle, which resulted in a Leadership Vladivostok program.
🔹 Serving as trustee or board officer on philanthropic and nonprofit boards.
🔹 Co-creating the Global Leadership Forum, which focuses on leadership development for social purpose organizations—now commencing its 21st cohort!
🔹 My dear and close friendships that were developed through Leadership Tomorrow. I count on this trusted network of community leaders throughout our region and beyond for input and assistance.
