As a muralist artist, I enjoy the challenge of working on commission on unique projects. As a fine artist, I like to paint the journey of life.

As a woman, my work is inspired by my feminine inner soul and my unique life experience.

By Matthew Buitron –River Talk News, Camas & Washougal, WA—Maria Grazia Repetto has just recently began this particular mural of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his car, here in Camas. It’s the second of many murals that are planned to be painted around Camas and eventually Washougal too, showing the cities pasts, present and future.
The first mural to have arrived in Camas is proudly displayed above the entrance to the Camas Art Gallery and is of the Camas and the Crown Willamette paper mill, circa 1900.
The idea here is that the murals will lead to increased downtown foot traffic while further beautifying the two towns. Organizers of the Camas-Washougal Mural Project hope to attract visitors to the cities by visually highlighting their pasts — and the public figure citizens who have called them home. Mural organizers want the paintings to attract enough interest that they can start a series of walking tours through the cities, bringing focus to their histories.
Potential mural subjects to be painted include locally historic figures like, astronaut Michael Reed Barratt from Camas and Earth Day's first national coordinator Denis Hayes. There are also opinions forming around the community as to who should be featured next. People like; Musician, Jimmie Rogers, Henry Pittock, founder of what’s now known as the Camas Mill, Doc Harris, even Lewis, Clark & Sacagawea. OK…that last one was mine.
A typical mural can cost thousands of dollars to produce. Most of the money for the first mural came from the "Camas in White" fundraiser, an August dinner to raise money for the project. You can thank the DCA and downtown Camas business for that.
Other building owners have also expressed interest in receiving the mural treatment.
The Camas-Washougal Mural Project has partnered with the Clark County Mural Society, which has worked with artists to paint scenes throughout Vancouver. The two organizations share the same nonprofit status.
Maria has recently contacted River Talk News and asked them to help her with a video about the project. The intention for the video is to bring awareness to the community about this amazing project and help raise the funds for the artists to continue blessing our towns with beautiful art that tells the stories of our locally history.
Born and trained in Italy, Maria Grazia Repetto is a world renowned Master Artist. Her technical versatility allows her to draw from a wide range of age-old techniques, from the original 'Pompeii' style of fresco and bas-relief to the use of fresco as a contemporary medium, bringing a fresh, new and vibrant life to an ancient form of art.

Although she specializes in fresco murals, Maria is also accomplished in oil, watercolor, acrylics and printmaking. Maria's pieces have been exhibited in art galleries and private collections throughout Europe and United States.
