We're feeling illuminated around White Center's newest multifamily building, Elevation16. Glowing with pride, you might say. Rihanna's voice is even on repeat in our heads..."Shine bright like a diamond." After a lengthy signage variance process with King County, Elevation16 is sporting a new look with highly visible (and attractive we might add) exterior signage to complement their existing Waypoint-created interior sign package. Thanks to owners rep B+E Consulting Partners, Katie Phipps Design for developing a very cool brand and to property manager Blanton Turner for supporting the site coordination for this installation.

Oaktown. Harlem of the West. Once upon a time, when the Athletics and Raiders were still there...O-Town. Whatever your preferred moniker, Oakland, California is an incredibly diverse city with a storied history.
Holland Partner Group's 320-unit multifamily development, The Lark, celebrates the city's rich past and its tapestry of unique perspectives. As a major center for Black culture and music from the 1920s to the 1950s, Oakland was a jazz hub.
The Waypoint team swooned and swung into action upon hearing this story. Sultry and sophisticated signage appeared, honoring the city's harmonious past with a wayfinding package inspired by guitar strings.
Each string on the instrument makes a unique sound, and when strummed together, a song results. In parallel, at The Lark, diverse individuals come together to create a community. What's more perfect than that?

In the PNW, we love the outdoors. Even when it starts raining (hint: it is what makes it green here). Vulcan Real Estate's Cascara Apartments and its super swell signage celebrate our shared admiration of the natural environment that surrounds us.

A little shop wandering with phone in-hand brings us to this nifty wayfinding signage for Astral + Revel by Alta, a Wood Partners project completing construction in Hillsboro, Oregon.

San Jose’s Japantown is one of the last three authentic Japantowns in the United States. Shea Properties worked with the neighborhood for almost a decade to develop 6th & Jackson, a project that honors the community and its people. With clean, contemporary lines and a cool palette of natural woods mixed with black and white tones, the development speaks to modern Japanese buildings and spaces. And the signage is pretty sweet too, leveraging a natural wood substrate, tactile lettering and numbers with a striped pattern that accent the community’s stunning interiors. Waypoint was delighted to continue our partnership with Shea and to work with fellow Seattleites Ankrom Moisan, the project architect, and Swenson Builders, the development’s general contractor.

It’s Waypoint Wayback Wednesday! Today we’re zooming back to March, 2022 (so not too far back) to highlight Alta Arlo, a Wood Partners development in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle. Waypoint is honored to work with Wood Partners across multiple states and markets, but there is something special about doing a project at home, within a short few miles of our office and fabrication facility. Alta Arlo has some super cool signage, if we do say so ourselves. Speaking to the building’s sustainable construction, the hyper-local neighborhood vibe and the creative nature of the target audience, the sign package is as multi-layered as the Columbia City community, leveraging unique textures and materials to make a statement throughout the development. Johnston Architects designed this thoughtful building and Exxel Pacific was the General Contractor. Thanks for having Waypoint on the team!

In 1938, Jack L. Warner of Warner Bros. film studio opened the Hollywood Turf Club (later Hollywood Park) racetrack in Inglewood, California. It was a place to see and be seen, with an old Hollywood vibe and backers such as Bing Crosby and Walt Disney. Fast forward 85 years and Hollywood Park is still a sought-after destination, but now it is a mixed-use community. Set on the site of the former racetrack, Wilson Meany’s multifamily buildings, The Wesley and The Crosby are inspired by the history, character and personality of the glamorous horse racing venue. Waypoint was honored to be a part of bringing these two landmark buildings to life. A big thank you to Wilson Meany for including us in your team!
