From Mumbai to Alaska's fuel supply chain, Nishant Shah has always been drawn to how things work.

A mechanical engineer turned supply chain analyst, Nishant found his way to Delta Western Petroleum - Juneau through a UW Foster internship and hasn't looked back. Now he's building the systems that keep remote Alaskan communities fueled.

Tacoma Company Key Link in Alaska Supply Line 03/14/2026

If you eat it, wear it, or drive it in Alaska, there's a good chance it arrived on one of TOTE Maritime Alaska's ships.

Every week, two vessels depart the Port of Tacoma bound for Anchorage carrying an average of 20 million pounds of cargo each. TOTE has been running this route for 50 years, moving roughly a third of all cargo entering the state.
