Hello graduating seniors!

We've come across a great scholarship opportunity that we want to share with you all.

Albert Lee Wright, Jr. Memorial Migrant Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor an eligible migratory student who has overcome significant barriers presented by mobility, has performed well academically, and who has provided service to his/her community.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

 Be a migrant student!
 You and your family move for agricultural or fishing employment and you sustain disruption or interruption of your schooling.
 Be a dedicated student!
 Show us you care and you’re willing to work hard! We’re looking for academic achievement or improvement in your official transcript.
 Be a graduating high school senior
 This scholarship is intended for students who will be entering college for the first time.
 Demonstrate financial need
 We want to make sure this scholarship goes to someone
who could really use the help, so you need to estimate how much you think your education will cost, how much you have saved so far, and any scholarships you have already applied for or received.

Sound like you? Then apply! If selected, you will be awarded at least $2,000 to help pay for college.

Follow the link bellow for further information and for instructions on how to apply!

Student survey 08/06/2020

Dear Students:

The Latino Educational Achievement Program (LEAP) is reaching out to get your input about a potential LEAP Virtual conference. As we all know, unless we enter Phase 4 of Governor Inslee’s phase back policy, LEAP will not be able to hold a face-to-face annual conference that draws over 300 students and staff. As an alternative, LEAP is exploring the idea of conducting a virtual LEAP conference and we would like to get your opinion on this possibility. Attached is a very short survey to help us gauge interest. It will only take 1-3 minutes to complete. Thank you for your input.

Hola LEAPers!!

Please click on the links below to take this very important survey!

If you are Latina/o/x, Chicana/o/x, indigenous, and/or Afro-descended person with roots in Latin America, living in the U.S., we want to hear from you about your experiences dealing with mental health during this pandemic.

Can you please take a few minutes to share your experiences with us?

https://asupublicprograms.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5dULH0KBV87WGAR?emci=dfefb6c1-6cd7-ea11-9b05-00155d03bda0&emdi=51918741-6dd7-ea11-9b05-00155d03bda0&ceid=157760

The Beyond the Numbers survey will only take about 15 minutes to complete and your answers will help us do the following:

•Examine how Covid19 is impacting the mental health of the Latinx community as it intersects with all other aspects of our lives including class, race, gender, identity, sexual orientation language, immigration status and many others.

•Understand the prevalent emotions that Latinx people are navigating in this moment of crisis as well as the ways in which they are creating their own care systems outside the state.

•Gather information that can aid organizations, service providers, government officials and all other advocates in shaping policy efforts and providing healing and health services.

If you have any questions about the survey, do not hesitate to contact LTAN at [email protected] or David Becerra at [email protected], 602-496-1194.

Our goal is to survey 5,000 Latinx individuals! Please help us reach that goal by forwarding this email to 10 people! Not in the habit of emailing your friends? That’s OK - Share this post on Facebook, or repost to your IG story! Use the shortlinks bit.ly/covid19latinxsurvey for English and bit.ly/covid19latinxencuesta for Spanish.
