Advent 12.25.22
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”

Advent 12.24.22
“…the glory of the Lord shone around them (the shepherds)”
In Advent, we are told the story that those regarded ordinary were suddenly regarded firsts that very night when an angel of the Lord announced the coming of the Savior. The lasts become firsts is one of the many expressions of the kingdom of God where justice, peace, hope, love and mercy reign.

Advent 12.23.22
“no place for them…”
Advent invites us to make room. Whether it’s making room for the homeless or making room to remember the birth of Christ, it is a wonderful way to celebrate and experience the coming of the Kingdom of God.
Our Savior’s coming into the world was an encounter with homelessness. The sense that night is coming, tiredness from travel and the need to rest safely. To add to these tensions, Mary started with her labor pains and we can only imagine the level of anxiety Joseph was going thru—if we can only find a room. The manger was the only space they found. Though cold, they found warmth among the animals there. And what is most notable is, though with many challenges, Jesus was born to heal, give, love, inspire, die and rise as savior. Making room can be witnessing the birth of God’s good news.

Advent 12.22.22
God makes his redeeming ways public that those thru whom we experienced disgrace will one day rejoice and be in awe of God when he delivers and saves in miraculous ways.
“Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord shown his great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.”
Advent 12.21.22
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for he has looked favorably on his people
and redeemed them.
He has raised a mighty savior for us…
By the tender mercy of our God,
the dawn from on high
will break upon us………..,
to give light to those who sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of
Peace.”
This is an expression that resonates among those who have experienced the fulfillment of the anticipation. These are the themes in the songs of Christmas!
Advent 12.20.22
“For he looked with favor
On the loveliness of his servant
Surely, from now on all generations
will call me blessed,
For the Mighty One has done
great things for me
and holy is his name…”
Mary’s words… are the words we continue to hear from those who receive the goodness that comes in the season of Advent.

Advent 12.19.22
“My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior”
Mary’s response makes evident the beautiful overflowing reciprocity we get to experience of being grafted and restored into the relationship with God! We get to know what it means to bless and be blessed!
Advent 12.18.22
When given a massive role and responsibility to bear the good news, though exciting, it can also be daunting. Fear and worry can occupy us. And God knows…
Scripture says Mary went to Elizabeth with haste. Why? We don’t know. But it clearly says that the Holy Spirit filled Elizabeth in that moment that she bursts into blessings of encouragement and prophesies to affirm Mary’s faith and belief. And in the same way, the baby in her womb leaped inside during the greetings.
In the same way, we are all pregnant with the good news… God knows we worry at times even when we firmly believe. Receive God’s encouragement and affirmations with grace from those he sends to you today.

Advent 12.17.22
The season of Advent invites us to believe… Mary believed. In this momentous encounter, Mary expressed notable faith and firm trust by stating her resolute willingness to let God’s way be. “Here am I, the servant of the Lord. Let it be with me according to your word.”

Advent 12.16.22
“For nothing will be impossible for God.”
These are the reassuring words of Gabriel to Mary telling how Jesus will come into the world as the holy Son of God—even noting Elizabeth’s miraculous overcoming of barrenness and conception at an old age.
This season of Advent, let us receive the grace that can remove the bounds that have beset us. So we can live out the limitless goodness that God, who knows nothing impossible intends humankind to experience.
Advent 12.15.22
This is Advent…
The anticipation of the one who is to come…
As announced to Mary is…
“You will conceive…
you will bear a son…
you will call him Jesus
He will be great…
Will be called the Son of the Most High…
Will give to him the throne of his ancestor David
Will reign over the house of Jacob
And of his kingdom there will be no end…
The good news much awaited for 🎄
