Turns out she can be talked into a swim cap by her Nona, she improved her PR by 12 seconds, and will gladly wait to congratulate her opponent at the end of the race. We’re a frothy blend of excitement and pride over here! It’s pretty cool to be 7. 🙌

Who needs a swim cap when you’ve got BUNNY ears! 🐰

AT HOME IN WATER: Bridge Bath Times & Swim Lessons 09/04/2021

Summer might be winding down, but I extend it all winter long in the bath tub! Last week in my online class for babies 0 to 1, we discussed holds to use in the pool and bath tub that support a baby's natural curiosity and development, and the mamas shared their observations as they interacted with their children in water. Early exposure to water makes learning to swim much easier when the time comes. Learn more or join my waiting list for next session (click Fall Registration!)

AT HOME IN WATER: Bridge Bath Times & Swim Lessons I created the guide I wished for when I had my first baby, and I created it with all new moms in mind. Nurturing instruction that anyone could try during bath time (because we were already doing it…

☀️ Summer traditions whose absence we felt in 2020: the cake bake, the water show, 4th of July 🇺🇸 neighborhood parade, wakesurfing team trips, Labor Day games.

☀️ Summer traditions we enjoyed in 2020: togetherness, swimming at the pool, wakesurfing, teaching / coaching 💦, outdoor dinners, annual photo shoots in our swimsuits as our most comfiest selves. 🥰

While different from 20ish other seasons (of mainly group lessons daily), I’m thrilled to have been able to continue serving kids the best way I know how: by participating in the building up of your child’s courage, confidence, & skills.

And a round of applause for this shield. 😂 It blocked ALL the splashes & squirts to the face, I’m in love. (Swipe for kid POV!)

Thank you to my swim families & enthusiastic students for a wonderful 2020 summer! I’m so proud to have witnessed the breakthroughs with you.

Thank you to my future families who joined my waiting list after I booked up & who have already inquired about winter! I love it.

What’s next? Buttoning up our remodel & birthing our baby! 😄 I’ll be in the water again soon! Stay tuned. 💦

Mermaid Window:

This spark for underwater play 💦 is brought to you by yours truly from the late 80s. I think it’s longevity makes this game a timeless classic! 😉

Molly (4) is so very into imaginary play right now. 🧜‍♀️ If your swimmer is too, try this & let me know how it unfolds! The plot lines are boundless & this game is often the only one we need during our 1 hour pool reservation.

How to play:
The hook is the underwater lights at the pool! The overflow drain in the bath tub will also work. Gesture to it & ask, “Do you know about the mermaid window?”

You’ll know Mermaid Window is a good fit when it becomes the Platform 9 & 3/4 of your pool play. 👏🏼 (That’s a Harry Potter reference to the gateway of the magical world. 🤓)

I’m pretty sure I forgot it was on & smiled anyway. 😄

My girl. 🥰 But not really “mine” because she belongs to herself. Who else will swim on gray & rainy days?
