The revolution is being televised.

And it’s louder, messier, and more complicated than a screen can hold.

Sometimes the work is bodies in the street.
Noise. Pressure. Refusal.

Sometimes the work is quieter. Protective. Invisible by necessity.
Change moving through relationships, rooms, and choices that never go viral.

None of these roles outrank the others.
They only work because they exist together.

What stalls progress is apathy.
Disengagement dressed up as neutrality.
Watching without responsibility.

Every movement needs an ecosystem.

Discernment is listening for where you’re needed now, and honoring that others are being called somewhere else.

On MLK Day, I’m holding that tension.

Let’s get one thing straight: flowers aren’t just pretty.

They’re weapons of feeling. Mood shifters. Truth tellers. And if you’re arranging them like you’re following IKEA instructions, you’re doing it wrong.

I’m teaching a seminar at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show called Floral Therapy: Designing with Feeling + Intention (February 19th, 3:15pm, DIY Stage).

And I know what you’re thinking: GIRL WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?!

It means stop playing it safe. Stop reaching for the same dusty (in every sense of the word) rose and eucalyptus combo because Pinterest told you to. Start asking: What do I actually want this to say? How do I want someone to feel?

When you design with real intention, something shifts.

Out: Beige energy
In: Arrangements that make you feel something

Welp, here we are.

Due to the current tariffs on imported florals, quotes for events requiring blooms from affected countries will see a 10% increase next week—unless the contract is signed and retainer is submitted. If your event can be fulfilled with local florals, this won’t apply to you. And if you’re already booked? You’re good—no changes coming your way.

I wish this wasn’t the case, but I believe in transparency and protecting the integrity of the work. Thank you for understanding the ripple effect these kinds of shifts have on small, independent creative businesses like mine.
