Our monthly drop-in volunteering is great low commitment way for new and returning volunteers to help us with vital material processing tasks and activities.

Lead by a member of our material processing team, each event has a range of activities based on what materials we’ve received that month.

Every helping hand makes a big difference in our mission to put more reusuable art materials back into the hands of artists.

Donation Ask!

Help us improve our donation infrastructure. Seattle ReCreative Georgetown is in need of a working desktop computer for our material processing team for basic office tasks (web browser, spreadsheets, documents).

We already have a monitor. A Small Form Factor/Micro Form Factor, Thinclient, or laptop with HDMI out would work as well. Mac or Windows/Linux based chipset are all ok.

We're excited to announce new programming for fall!

Join us for After School Trash to Treasure on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3 pm-5 pm and Wednesdays from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. In September, young artists will use recycled materials to "Build a Friend" and "Build a World" from their own imagination!

On Tuesday mornings, we'll have Open Studio hours from 11 am-2 pm for artists of all ages to create with the support of our teaching artist staff, facilitating with pre-planned projects and guiding student-led creativity.

On Tuesday nights from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm, join us for our Adult Mixed Media class series. On 9/22, we'll practice mini bookmaking. And on 9/29, join us for "Hearts and Crafts!"

Creative Reuse Garage Sale at Seattle ReCreative Georgetown

We have too much stuff! Come by our garage sale for discount prices on surplus items. While you're here, you can also check out the Funk your Junk garage sale happening at Equinox Studios next to us on Saturday until 6pm.

Over a dozen Sewing Machines/Sergers, bulk buttons, scrap fabric packs, yarn cones, zippers, straight knitting needles, select yarn, rubber stamps, holiday items, and much more!

Even beginners can learn to create "etching-like" prints quickly and easily using tools and materials you already have at home! Learn to use recycled packaging and water-based ‘ink’ to make your very own prints. All supplies will be provided, and step-by-step guidance will ensure everyone leaves with their own finished plates!

We have an exciting workshop opportunity coming up next month at our Greenwood location! Join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 10-11:30 am for our DIY 101 Workshop.

If you've struggled to make a start in DIY and upcycling, this class is the perfect introduction. A series of instructor-led exercises ask you questions about your style, your priorities, your skills, and the existing items in your home. You can walk through the class with an eye toward clothing, home decor, or both!
