Insect Safari is an educational program located in Seattle, WA. since 1994. It is owned and operated by Don Ehlen.
The insect program includes a teaching collection consisting of 24 Cornell Museum drawers with 2100 preserved specimens of Arthropods. For several years I have taught an annual class at Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon. I normally work with elementary age students so this is always an interesting change for me. The class is a biological illustration section in the biology department. We have three hours to talk about classification and allow the students to make detailed drawings. This year the instructors sent me a few copies of the student's work.
