The COMTO WA Workforce Development Serves Everyone (WDSE - pronounced “woods”) Committee will host its first WDSE Symposium October 22nd, 2025, from 10am-2pm, at Sound Transit’s Union Station.

✔️ Executive Panel members from Sound Transit, Community Transit, KC Metro and Espousal Strategies Inc will review workforce needs

✔️ Workforce Development Policy panel from the Port of Seattle, KC Metro and Sea-King Workforce Development Council, Parametric and Furtado will discuss obstacles to meeting workforce demands

✔️ Workforce Needs Full Lifecycle workshop will be held by industry professionals from Zann, Inc. and Strategic Business Services to better understand job market demands at various career phases

✔️ Industry subject matter experts from Farwest Steel and the TRAC program along with the Laborers union will be present to discuss Leveraging Untapped Potential in our workforce

Along with registering, complete the Workforce Development Poll to provide your feedback on current workforce challenges to help us identify and address the needs of our growing transit and transportation workforce. Please take the poll by October 1st, 2025. The results will be reviewed at the WDSE Symposium.

This event aims to identify and address the needs of our growing transit and transportation workforce and provide COMTO members with tools and information to help them stay competitive by:

· Creating opportunities for discussions with industry leaders on workforce trends and opportunities,

· Providing career development tools,

· Creating networking and mentorship opportunities, and

· Enhancing opportunities for small businesses.

A WDSE Symposium poll will be sent out prior to the event to gather feedback on workforce development needs and ideas.

The 2025 COMTO national conference is now in the books! Our Washington State chapter spent a full weekend learning from and connecting with COMTO chapters and transportation colleagues from across the nation.
