PUSH stands for Pick Up Something Heavy. However, it stands for so much more. Besides, heavy is relative, right? Personal Training

We may have all different types of goals, skills and abilities, but the one thing that we all want, is to live happy and healthy.

Most people think progress comes from how hard you can push.

But especially after 35, progress usually comes from how well you can recover from pushing.

A recent WOD Science study on masters functional fitness athletes found that both 3-day and 6-day training groups improved significantly when overall training load and recovery were managed intelligently.

Not because they trained less.

Not because they trained easy.

Because stress, intensity, and recovery were distributed intentionally.

That’s the nuance.

Recovery doesn’t mean avoiding hard training.

It means creating enough space to actually adapt from hard training.

Nailed it on the first try.

Happy birthday to the one and only Trysh. The glue that holds PUSH together. I know you don’t like the spotlight, but you don’t have Instagram! Thank you for being simply the best and giving all that you do to this community.

Our 5th Annual Murph Workout + Potluck is coming up soon!

Here’s the plan: we will have 3 class time options on Monday 5/25, either at 7:30 AM, 9 AM or 10:30 AM. Annnnnddd for those of you that aren’t interested in doing Murph ever again in your lives, we are also offering a 2nd back-up workout that Aidan will invent so you can still get a workout in that day. Once the LAST person finishes in each class (we support our homies here), we all go home, take a nap, shower (in whatever order you prefer) and then meet up at Golden Gardens.

What is MURPH you ask? Well, for those that don’t know it’s a gnarly workout done every Memorial Day. It can be done as written in order or partitioned however you want as long as you get all reps done.

1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1 mile run

Yes, friends can drop in to the workout if you have them sign up online under the Drop-in tab on our website. Yes, you can still come to the potluck even if you don’t do Murph. 😜

Hope to see you there!

You’re still showing up.
Still training hard.
But something feels off.

Most people call it burnout.

And sometimes it is.
But more often—it’s a loss of direction.

So you do what most people do.
You add more.

More volume. More intensity. More days.

But that usually makes it worse.

Because burnout doesn’t just come from doing too much.
It comes from doing too much without a clear reason why.

If your training feels off right now, don’t just push harder.
Get clear.

Full breakdown is on the blog in bio.
