Mohamud Awil Mohamed is the Executive Director of HARO (Humanitarian African Relief Organziation) an international relief agency that works across the HOA with a particular focus on Somalia.

Under Mohamud’s leadership HARO has embraced an aggressive policy of online fundraising, strategic corporate & philanthropic partnerships and sustained giving from the Somali professional class across the diaspora.

He received his undergraduate degrees from Augsburg University in Clinical Psychology and History, and his Masters in Applied History from the University of Minnesota. In addition to his work, Mohamud is a Fontaine Fellow at University of Pennsylvania where he is pursuing a Ph.D in History and Islamic Law. His research interrogates networks of learning, intellectual kinship and patronage in the medieval HOA, Arabian Peninsula and Indian Ocean geographies.

He holds a diploma in Islamic Studies from Abubakar As-Siddique’s Institute for Islamic Studies, completed a resident research fellowship at Dar Al-Hadith Al-Hassania in Rabat, Morocco as well as private studies with scholars in Fez. He has studied under Minnesota’s senior scholars and with senior scholars across the Muslim world. He is currently the Resident Scholar at Irshad Islamic Center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Mohamed Hussein is the founder and CEO of PGLS (Piedmont Global Language Solutions), a language services provider to the public and private sectors. PGLS was recently nominated as MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) of the year by the NMSDC (national minority supplier diversity council).

In a recent Inc.com article, Mohamed spoke about his journey on the way to building PGLS, which recorded nearly $32.5 million in 2021 revenue, has 57 employees and provides translation, interpretation, and related services for those speaking more than 200 languages in 18 countries in a $60.5 billion industry.

Mohamed spent several years studying and working in the Saudi Arabia where he earned an Associate's degree in Arabic and a Bachelors degree in Hadith. Mohamed also holds a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Biology from George Mason University.

Mohamed is the Executive Director of SAYF (Somali American Youth Foundation) in Virginia. He serves on several boards and volunteers with numerous organizations both inside and outside of the language services industry.

Dr. Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh is the former Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Somalia (2017-2022). He was successfully elected as a Member of the Somalia Federal Parliament in February 2017 and appointed to his Ministerial post in March by H.E. Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire. During the 2017 elections,

Dr. Beileh has 30 years of finance and development experience in Africa with the African Development Bank of which 17 years have been in senior management and leadership roles. This allowed him to directly and significantly contribute to the development of the Bank’s policies, programs, strategies and Africa’s economic future through these actions.

Dr. Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh served as Somalia’s Foreign Minister from January 2014 to February 2015 and in this period he oversaw the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations with established and new partner nations, agencies and organisations including the United Nations, African Union, European Union and Arab League. Dr. Beileh also set the vision for the first national Cabinet adopted Foreign Policy which today guides Somali Foreign Policy.

Dr. Beileh has a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and enjoyed a successful academic career as an assistant professor in Finance at both Tennessee State University in the USA and King Saud University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Beileh speaks English, Arabic and French alongside his native language of Somali.
