Thanks to everyone who made our India Discovery Fair a success! We had a lot to juggle this year including a change in location from Grace Community Church to Green River College. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave! We appreciate you!

We're gearing up for our India Discovery Fair November 29th!

The last time we met in person was October of last year and we are so looking forward to seeing everyone again! The event will take place on November 29th from 6:00-8pm (Doors Open at 5:30pm) at Green River College in Auburn.

Time is Short! We Need Table Hosts and Sponsors!

We have a goal of reaching one hundred people to be in-person at our event this year.

Focusing on reaching people one-on-one would seem like a tall order, but table hosts change everything.

The Unplugged Hub (Vocational Training in Computers & Bringing Digital Learning Opportunities to Students)
And Community Health Workers (A Brand New Ministry!)

India Discovery Fair 2022 – Global Helps Network

In India, a large number of rural women and girls are illiterate or semiliterate, economically disadvantaged, and rely on their male family members for basic needs. Women were disproportionately affected by unemployment and poverty during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Women's empowerment can be achieved through self-reliance and financial independence, which can be achieved through vocational training that allows women to start their own business or take up a job in a new industry.

We believe computer literacy is not only a necessary but also a critical component. Because computer literacy is the pillar of a progressive and evolving nation, it deserves equal attention to food, shelter, and clothing. Given the growing demand for computers in all fields, we can include computer literacy in the basic needs because of the growing need for it in India.

Picture: In one of our computer centers, we trained eighteen students grade 7 to 11 in a basic computer courses.

Joakim is a 12-year-old from an isolated rural community. His family's main occupation is rearing pigs and goats. Joakim had never set foot in a school in his life.

When we started free tuition classes he came forward asking for education. We invited him to join our classes and later we helped him to get admitted in the local school. His parents are day wage laborers, they have never been to school and so they never thought about the importance of an education.

We are helping Joakim to grow in his studies and learn reading, writing, science and math. Today, he is currently in 5th grade. If Joakim is able to graduate from elementary school, not only will he be the first in his immediate family, but he will be the first generation of his village to attend and graduate primary school.

In India, girls account for a disproportionately large share of all out-of-school children. We are changing the lives of marginalized children in North India by offering free tuition lessons to the needy. It is critical that every child benefits from great education.
