Being an emerging conductor is difficult. I keep all my rejection letters and emails from past interviews in a file, and I always ask for feedback to become a better candidate. I recently finished a call with the hiring manager for a position I applied for a couple of months ago. They told me that they initially put me in the second round of interviews out of courtesy. That really stung. They also mentioned that I was close to the final candidates, but my lack of experience and not having a doctoral degree made me less competitive.

I have poured my heart into directing church music for 10 years, teaching school choirs and orchestras for 5 years, and leading community choruses for 3 years. My experience is diverse, encompassing all sorts of music, not just choruses.

I am always seeking professional development opportunities and strive to give back to the communities I serve with my expertise and passion for music.

For friends that would like to join a choir, I've got you covered in the 2023/24 season:

1. Magnolia Chorale:(https://www.magnoliachorale.org/)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays from 7:00 pm to 9:15 pm
- Location: Magnolia, but singers come from various areas around town.
- Details: The Magnolia Chorale is a community choir that rehearses on Sunday evenings. It will be our 35th-anniversary this year!

2. Norwegian Ladies Chorus of Seattle:(https://www.nlcofseattle.org/)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Tuesdays from 7:15 pm to 8:45 pm
- Details: The Norwegian Ladies Chorus predominantly performs Norwegian music/folksongs. However, we are expanding our repertoire as we prepare for our tour in Norway in August 2024.

3. Amabile, Northwest Girlchoir:(https://www.northwestgirlchoir.org/)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
- Location: Northgate
- Details: Amabile is an auditioned treble choir for students in grades 5 to 7.

4. Northminster Presbyterian Church Choir:(https://www.northminsterpres.org/choir)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Thursdays from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
- Location: North Ballard
- Details: The NPC choir is open to all singers, regardless of experience or background. NPC is a very welcoming faith community.
