We finally met our match! This here is a 102 inch square painting, rolled.
Our mission was to capture the painting in our fine art studio. A combination of technical know-how, spatial acrobatics, and a penchant for crazy, got the shot!
The digital capture is, of course, spot-on, and high resolution. The artist is going to be pleased. We'll make another post about her work, complete with tags, in a few days.
Look to our website for details on our fine art photography. Or, give us a call 206-281-1630, email [email protected], or just drop on in!
Happy 2026! A reminder that with our successful photo studio approaching its first year of operation, we take in all sizes of artwork for professional photographic capture. This way of digitally capturing art gives you a clear path toward showing your professional intent.

We here at The Color Group are pleased to wrap up a highly successful year! Within 2025, we have completed the largest print order to date with The Chosen and Annie Leibovitz photography.
We added a new 44" printer to our fleet of printers! This makes larger jobs much easier to manage, and our 60" printer continues to purr like a kitten.
We have honed our skills in ways that is making us much more efficient in our work, which is super important since we are running with the smallest team we've ever had! This is a good thing! And, it has made us a tighter, more involved team of true professionals.
Our customers continue to inspire us! We began showcasing on facebook and instagram the artists who work with us, and the process with which we capture their work. Our goal is to showcase a different artist every couple weeks.
Props to our newest team member Beth Lukas, who joined us in March. She comes to us with an art background paired with wicked organizational skills that culminates in a most excellent project manager.
We're running leaner and meaner (but actually nicer) in 2025, and we're looking forward to a prosperous 2026.
Cheers from The Color Group team!

We are 1/3 of the way through printing these stack and stacks of four iconic and unique images! These are all being created for a show called The Chosen. These limited series prints are being double-checked for quality, packed, and sent out to be packaged into a lovely boxed set with a gold-foiled, signed certificate of authenticity by the photographer herself, Annie Leibovitz.
This project has made us even more confident in our attention to detail and repeatability in order to produce superb giclée prints as one-offs, or -in the case of this project- enormous batches!
We've been humming along nicely now for many years, assisting Seattle artists, and nationally and internationally renowned artists. We're happy to work with such a rich and varied community.
We are also now running with the smallest, most efficient group in the history of The Color Group. This is all possible to the pride and care, and genuine interest we all take in working here –as artists working for artists–
Also, our new photo studio has brought our art photography to a whole new level. If you're looking to capture your artwork, give us a call, or visit thecolorgroup.com for details. A call or email is helpful since we always look for ways to fit more of your artwork into a 'gang shot' that will save you money.
We are currently taking in a ton of original art to be photographed! Our new photo studio is humming along nicely. Drop in for an estimate on photographing your art. Bring in multiple pieces, and we give you a 'gang shot' discount, so you end up paying far less than shooting just one piece.

We have been busy printing, trimming, and packing up these delicious prints into sets...and getting ready to crate them and send them out! This stack is the first 1000 of the order! We are excited to announce the project (when we are allowed to announce it!)
This job is a testament to the hard work and super picky quality control of a small team of hard workers who care deeply about quality fine art reproduction.
Stay tuned!

One giant print job is taking up significant resources here, and we couldn't be happier! This li'l pile of prints represents about half of what we're cranking out per day.
This, plus our new photo studio is up, running, and capturing your artwork in exquisite detail!
We will announce what the heck this job is when we are allowed!
In the meantime, here is some clarity on the term 'giclée printing':
Giclée is an oddball reference to the French verb 'gicler,' which means 'to sq**rt' or 'to spray'. It's not the prettiest of French words, but some words have to perform the inglorious task of explaining things plainly.
The reference to spraying is on-point, as it is referring to the print heads on printers that create these prints. The ink is literally sprayed on the paper in a highly-controlled and repeatable action, which is why prints don't vary over time.
In the sense of the industry, 'Giclée Print' is only applicable when a certified archival substrate (paper, canvas, etc.) is printed on with certified archival inks. Anything other than that is not a giclée print.
Enter...The Color Group.
Everything we print here is certified archival substrates and inks. Also, we care a lot!
