🚧🚨 Construction Update!

Work is underway on Low Income Housing Institute's Good Shepherd Housing in the . Photos courtesy of Walsh Construction Co.

Located on the property of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, will operate this 7-story, 92-unit building as permanent supportive housing for both low-wage workers and for individuals experiencing homelessness. The site was formerly a Tiny Home Village and the project is one of the first to be permitted under the Affordable Housing on Religious Organization Property ordinance by the City of Seattle, which allows for greater density on a site than would otherwise be developed. As permanent supportive housing, the project includes spaces for wrap-around services such as on-site case management.

The Beardmore Building in Priest River, ID, one of Runberg's early projects, approaches its 100th anniversary with plans to re-open the long-dormant Rex Theater segment of the building.

Completed in 2009, the goal of the restoration project was to revitalize the historic downtown and to rehabilitate the structure according to the Department of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation while demonstrating sustainable building practices. The design integrates the restoration of the original building with new technologies such as rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient lighting, mechanical systems, and photovoltaic arrays. When completed, the building was one of only five Historic Landmark buildings in the U.S. to achieve LEED® Gold certification.

As 100th anniversary approaches, foundation plans to restore Priest River's Rex Theater PRIEST RIVER, Idaho – In 1923, a pioneering filmmaker named Nell Shipman premiered her silent feature film, “The Grub-Stake,” at the new Rex Theater in Priest River.

Hobson Place opened in early 2022 and offers permanent supportive housing for 177 disabled individuals and those who have experienced chronic homelessness. On the bottom three stories of the south side of the building, the Clinic at Hobson Place provides primary care, support, and advocacy from Harborview Medical Center and DESC for residents and for at-risk and vulnerable community members. We recently got to tour the clinic and see where such life-changing care happens for folks who need it most.
