They come from all over the country — and sometimes they come back again and again until Seattle starts to feel like home.
For 19 years, Laughs has been lucky enough to share our stage with some of the most talented, hilarious, hardworking humans in comedy. From rising stars doing their first road gig to legends who've been in the game for decades — every single one of them brought something special to our little room in the U District.
We are so grateful for every comic who has trusted us with their craft. You make us better. You make this city funnier. And you make those late nights closing up absolutely worth it. 🎤🖤

There's nothing quite like the moment before the first joke lands.
The lights go down. The room gets quiet. Someone walks up to that microphone and decides to tell the truth in the funniest way they know how.
We've watched it happen thousands of times over 19 years. It never gets old. 🎤

We can build the stage. We can book the comics. We can hang the curtains and pour the drinks and close up at midnight.
But without you? It's just an empty room.
For 19 years, you have filled these walls with something we could never manufacture — real, genuine, belly-laugh-until-it-hurts laughter. You showed up on Wednesday nights when nobody told you to. You brought your first dates, your work friends, your moms. You came back.
We are nothing without this community. Nothing.
To every single person who has ever walked through that doors at Totem Lake/Kirkland and U-District 5220 Roosevelt Way NE — thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. You are Laughs Comedy Club just as much as we are.

It's built by hundreds of people showing up week after week — writing, performing, watching, supporting, buying a drink, staying for the late show, tagging a friend, coming back.
Seattle has one of the most passionate, tight-knit comedy communities in the country and we have had a front row seat to it for 19 years.
This is your scene. We just gave it a home. 🖤

Over 19 years, thousands of comics have called our stage home. And a few of us have called each other family. 🖤

Nineteen years ago, two people had a dream. 🎤
It started in the Totem Lake neighborhood of Kirkland — an independently owned comedy club built from scratch, by hand, on a whole lot of hope and not nearly enough sleep.
We hauled chairs. We scrubbed kitchens. We hung curtains. We stayed up way too late closing down the bar and called it a perfect night.
There were hard days. There were heartbreaking days. And there were martini-filled nights of pure magic when the room was full and the laughter was loud and everything felt exactly right.
We moved to Seattle's U District and kept going. And somewhere along the way — between the beer and the late nights and the comics and the crowds — we met some of the most incredible people we've ever known.
