The face behind the flowers 🌸
Hi, I’m Sam! Founder and lead designer of Moonflower Design Co. I’m a floral designer based in Seattle who specializes in weddings. There are a lot of new friends on here lately so I figured it was time for an intro.
•My husband and I just moved to Seattle about a month ago. We were lifelong New Englanders before then and decided it was time for a new adventure.
•I swear A LOT. Sorry not sorry.
•I can’t get into wearing non-skinny jeans, even if it means I’m a cheugy millennial.
•I can’t handle caffeine. It’s decaf lattes or matcha for me.
•I LOVE cooking and trying new recipes. It’s super meditative for me and I definitely see some parallels between cooking and floral design.
•I’m on a quest to find the best bagels/breakfast sandwich in Seattle. Can anyone help?
Do we have something in common? Tell me in the comments 👇🏻

What factors go into pricing?
Color palette
All those trendy brown colors like toffee, caramel, mauve, and mustard that we love to include whether your palette is bright and bold, or features neutrals.
Delivery/travel
We have to factor in gas, van rentals, and accommodations depending on the location of each wedding.
Labor
Generally speaking, more on-site installations require more labor. We need to factor in assistance from freelancers based on the wedding size, specific designs, setup time, ceremony flipping, breakdown, and other considerations.
Flower requests
If you want peonies in September, the price is going to be vastly different than when they’re locally available in June.
More questions about pricing? Send us a DM—we’d love to chat with you! ✨

There are truly endless possibilities. 🍭
I don’t think I will ever get sick of exploring how color works and interacts, especially in the context of flowers.
There are SO many color combinations that I want to play with. If any of these inspire you, reach out and we can build out a custom mood board to show how it could come to life.

Quick rule of thumb for your floral budget. 👍🏼
If you’re not considering *at least* $100 per design, then your budget is likely to be way off base. This includes items like wedding party bouquets, centerpieces, aisle arrangements, welcome table, bar, etc. It does not include smaller items such as bud vases, corsages, and boutonnières.
This is just a starting point and does not mean bouquets and centerpieces cost $100 each—end of story. Installations are going to cost A LOT more than that. A wedding bouquet for the couple is going to cost substantially more than one for the wedding party. We also need to charge for delivery, labor and sales tax.
Hope this is helpful—save for future reference! ✨

What does “a la carte flowers” even mean? 🤔
At Moonflower, a la carte means we’re able to offer floral designs for events in our signature style but at a lower price point. We offer fully customized color palettes while utilizing a mix of standard and premium blooms.
All the designs are completely ready to go for your event which means we’re not on-site for any installation features. This is a huge bonus because it means you and your guests can take the flowers home after the event! You can choose to pick up your order or we offer delivery on orders over $1k. We do have a $500 minimum order.
Our design offerings include 3 bouquet sizes, boutonnieres, corsages, 3 centerpiece designs, bud vases, and ceremony urns. Vase arrangements are created in neutral ceramic vessels and personal flowers come with pins, vases, and are finished with coordinating ribbon if applicable. If you’re not sure what you need, reach out and we can help!
Inquire via website. 💐
