Northern Cold

Had an incredible time this last weekend. Played a set at Stompin In Da Woods 2026, got to hang with friends, and meet so many incredible people. This is the third year in a row I’ve had an opportunity to do this, and the vibes from the PNW rave community make this event so special. Even though I’m physically exhausted from dancing all weekend, my soul is inspired and recharged. There is something truly magical about forest raves.

Just over a week away until the Detonate STOMPIN IN DA WOODS 2026 campout festival / forest rave. So looking forward to connecting up with friends and community in this magical space. I’m playing a hard techno & trance set on Friday night. 🌲 🌲 🌲

Seattle friends — for the last 2 months, I’ve been working pretty much non-stop on a new A/V show concept. This Saturday, July 18th, I’m going to debut that A/V show concept at the EONS Label showcase with my good friends and label crew Thalestriss_official and IN_DUAL , and with extra support from Kris K PRSM AV/ IVC at PRSM AV. All night long you can expect high-energy hard techno, schranz, acid, and hard trance. But to make the night more special, we are bringing in custom visual and lighting production. This is where the A/V show concept comes in.

Most of you know that I make the visual art and animations for EONS Label. I make these all by hand, using Blender and Resolume. For my Northern Cold set, the music will be synced exclusively to visual clips that I’ve made. So every moment of animation and abstract art shown during my 90 minute set was made by me. To go along with the visuals, I hand-programmed 80 unique stage light scenes. These light scenes will also be synced to the music and visuals.

All of this will happen without performing pre-recorded sets. I’m still playing a fully live DJ set, just like I normally do. But for this A/V concept, I wrote new software that will detect what song is playing on the decks, and automatically trigger a random selection of light scenes and visual clips, based on the energy level of the track moments.

This new software works similar to a timecode setup that you might see at a big festival, but with a major difference being the visual performance is never the same twice. Each moment of the set is a controlled chaos random combination of lights and visuals synced to music that won’t get replicated, even if I played the same tracks in the same order again on a different day.

The lights, visuals, and software were all developed by hand without the use of AI. Its going to be imperfect, but magical. There might be glitches in the system we need to work out. It might even fail completely if things go sideways. But we wanted to try something new and push ourselves.

Happy 1 year anniversary to my 4-track vinyl release, the Onyx EP. Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who has supported this record or bought a vinyl copy. This release marked a shift towards harder and darker sounds, and I’m super proud of how it turned out. Also so much has happened over the last year that this feels like an eternity ago.
