This year I had the chance to photograph my son’s football team—both their official portraits and some custom posters. I wanted to celebrate their season and give the seniors a keepsake to remember their final year.

Behind the camera, my approach is simple: I see every person I photograph as a superstar—someone important, someone the world should notice. That mindset tells me when I’ve captured the right shot… or when I need to keep going until I do. And when I know, I know.

It’s been an absolute joy to celebrate these athletes and their winning season in a way that feels personal and memorable.

I photographed the West Seattle Wildcats through Hell Week, watching long days of drills, sweat, and no shortcuts turn individuals into a real team. I could see it happen — every rep and every hit pulling them closer together. Their time has come. The training will pay off. Let’s do this!

It’s been a few weeks of chasing small Pacific Northwest rodeos for this project— the sweet smell of alfalfa, the unmistakable tang of manure, the deep bellow of bulls behind the chutes. Im hooked! I find myself driving down Main Street of a small town I had never heard of searching for the Rodeo event happening in the woods off a quiet country road. I’m learning these small towns are famous for their rodeos some going back 70 or 80 years. When shooting, sometimes I’m right where I need to be…many times not. But every so often, everything aligns for 1/4,000th of a second and that’s what keeps me coming back~along with the smells. Ha!

Sharing a few frames that stood out to me — which one speaks to you?*

I'm sharing a series of lifestyle shots for Cutter & Buck I've done, celebrating the Pacific Northwest lifestyle — from the ocean to the mountains, and everywhere in between.

From rugged coastlines to alpine trails, these images highlight not just the beauty of our region, but the versatility of performance clothing designed for life on the go. Whether it's a crisp morning on the water under sail, a misty forest hike, or a laid-back city afternoon, this activewear fits right in — and stands out.

This is the kind of work I love: capturing authentic moments that showcase how real people move, live, and look great outdoors.

If you’re a brand, creative director, or marketer looking to bring your vision to life — whether it’s a product launch, brand story, or seasonal campaign — I’d love to collaborate.

Let’s shoot — big or small, I’m ready. Reach out and let’s make something beautiful.

So I've been shooting these dog portraits in the time of Covid to create some normalcy for my brain. Somebody challenged me to shoot chickens. Challenge accepted!
Thanks to our urban chicken population here in West Seattle this all came together rather fast. I give you chickens. Thanks to my friends on 41st for the distanced assist today! More shots to see on my blog if you're not chicken!

Over the last week or so I've been taking these dog portraits to stay sharp, learn, pass the time, do some good. As a creative I have to create something every day for my own sanity. It's not always pretty and most if it will never see the light of day yet it's still important I do it. These shots I'm proud of! It started with our dog, BEN. Then I started talking to my neighbors who have dogs. Through this exercise I've met families I've lived near for years. Sloan, the Great Dane is 8 years old. I'm really happy to be able to share these images with her family to live on for years.

In town during Modernism Week, I set out to capture the vibrancy of Palm Springs living. The inspo for our shoot was the blend of mid-century modern and modern-day Palm Springs. Check out my post for pics + read about our styling inspo. So many looks and so much fun, it was impossible to narrow to a few shots. https://www.estepworks.com/blog/palm-springs-inspo
