Christian Pincock Music on Trombone!
Christian Pincock is a trombonist and composer whose energetic and lyrical music pushes conventions while connecting with the essence of jazz. His compositional approch is similar to the working process of a sculptor, refining a piece by removing layers of material leaving only the most important and integral elements. Christian began to develop his process through his studies with the late trombonist and composer Bob Brookmeyer, with whom he studied at New England Conservatory of Music in the early 2000s. Since then he has explored a multitude of styles and techniques including the formal development techniques of Baroque and European Classical music; the rhythmic structures of samba, merengue, salsa, Hindustani music, and contemporary classical music; and the melodic and timbral possibilities of electronic music and free improvisation. Christian is also a touring artist and educator who has performed and led workshops in jazz, composition and improvisation throughout the United States with institutions such as Cornish College of the Arts, The University of New Mexico - UNM, & UC San Diego.

AARON OTHEIM on Synthesizer!
Aaron Otheim is a keyboardist, composer, and community organizer living in . His intricate, almost orchestral role in groups such as Heatwarmer and Burn List enlists multiple keyboards and synthesizers, at times conjuring vivid symphonic palettes reminiscent of Vangelis, Jan Hammer, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Sparer settings, often limited to just acoustic piano, reveal chamber music sensibilities that make full textural and sonic use of the instrument. Otheim is also known for his community-building efforts. In addition to teaching, he is a co-director of the record label Table & Chairs and principle organizer of the Racer Sessions, both of which have provided a grassroots focal point for exploratory and improvised music in Seattle, Washington and beyond.
