Foam TC tire maintenance part 3 is up β sidewall gluing πππ
Donβt round your front sidewalls very much so you get a nice flat surface for the glue.
Please note I donβt completely redo the sidewall glue every 4-5 runs, as I am doing in this video. Usually the glue can just be touched up a bit while maintaining tires. After 9-10+ runs I may need to start fresh with new glue.

Part 2 of foam TC tire maintenance:
π skimming different compound tires back into balance
π removing old sidewall glue
π tire surface prep
I could make these shorter but it takes more time and I ramble along with additional info throughout my process so I think there is some value in that. Some of that info took me years to Iearn, Iike keeping a Iittle tension on the thumb screw when making depth adjustments.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I omitted useful info.
Cheers,

Iβm going to start sharing some foam TC info to help people get into running foams and transition from rubber tire to something more civilized.
Starting things off here with some info about tire maintenance, chunking, and compounds.
(Forgive me these videos wonβt be very polished in the name of saving time)
Racers at our club have found Ulti tires to be working the best but some have had success with other brands. Favorite Ulti compound combinations so far (F/R):
(All tires except the 35E compound are nitro tc front tires)
38H/35E
38H/35H
R177MH/35E
R177MH/35H
35H/35H (measured 33 shore)
35E/35E (measured 30 shore)
I will keep sharing info as we learn more. Trying new things every weekend. The idea is to help everyone have the best driving, fastest, and most economical cars possible by testing things and sharing the data. This will also help people know what is worth running if certain compounds are out of stock when you need tires. Ultimately we intend to land on a spec tire that doesnβt have supply issues.

Our 17.5 LMH foam TC class is getting pretty serious now so it was time to finally update my touring car setup tools. This style of droop gauge is pretty awesome (chassis is sitting on 10mm blocks).

Been knocking down some backlogged projects in the lab. Next on the project chopping block is this Vision Racing B6/B74 hybrid chassis that uses the front end of a B6.1-B6.3 and a B74-74.1 rear end. I never actually intended to run this chassis when I bought it ~3 years ago, I just wanted to buy one from Jeff Phelps because they were cool. Building it up as a shelf queen roller and using up as much of my AE parts supply as I can. Should be a cool one when finished!
